Well, guys, when I retired from Dow 2 1/2 years ago, I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to go back to college and get a degree in a new field. After something like 30 classes in law, HR, finance, statistics, event management, accounting, business development, etc..., after 15 group projects, 21 research papers, and countless hours of study, I have done it, I'm a graduated! A B.S. in Hospitality management :)

Does that mean you can bill yourself for organising your own graduation party and claim back the drinks cost as a deductable?

Awesome job, one can never be too educated.:know:

Seriously good for you, tough to go back to school after being in the working world. A friend of mine recently did that, starting nursing school at the age of 30 after working for a long time.

Congrats, Neal, but I'd wager they should have seen the site you've done so well hosting here and awarded the degree based on that alone - you've done a bang-up job managing this place hospitably.

Congrats!

Submarine themed hotel?

It's only got four rooms, but 40 beds and 80 guests?

And two bathrooms. But one of them holds half the food. The other half is hanging from the ceilings everywhere.

Did you manage to study full-time, or did you work besides the studies? I am asking because I am also making my B.Sc, but it takes a little longer since I have a demanding and time-consuming job.

So my fullest respect goes to the >30 generation who havr the self-motivation and discipline to get some further education. :salute:

(while responding it happened for the first time that I got a blue screen on my 7 system, hope that's not a bad sign :03:)

I completed the first two years in 96-98, while working in the chemical plant (with wife and kids to take care of, too!).

I started my last two years in 2008 and just went to school full time, fall-spring-summer-fall spring-summer-fall, for 2 1/2 years. I worked part time from April '10 until July '10, when I took a second job and worked 7 days a week until Nov '10. :) So, I got to experience all extremes.
