"from the bottom of my heart"
Is that a translation error?
Should it be "bottom of my slush fund".
He did so out of respect for Fifa members who, he said, had been under unacceptable and unjustified pressure.
Ah, that would be pressure from the expose on bribery and corruption.

Really who gives a monkey's?
All the England supporters wailing about the decision.
Really we have the Olympics do we need the football?
Sorry as you can guess I am not that much into football and its fans.
Life goes on, move along, taxi for those daft enough to stand in the cold with faces painted.

Really we have the Olympics do we need the football? We Dutchmen do! We've got neither!:wah:
No real surprise that England got a kicking, I don't think anyone in FIFA likes the UK. Bit of a surprise that Russia got it, particularly given their stance on it prior to the award, even caught Putin off guard and that takes some doing!
Qatar was also a surprise, but I think that was definitely a passing of cash from hand to hand, whether the Russian one was too, who can say, but frankly I wouldn't be surprised, it's all backroom exchanging of cash and handshakes in sport these days.
Besides, we can barely afford to host the Olympics... :damn:

Well I honestly don't see many people travelling to either venue to see the tournaments....not that FIFA give a toss :DL

Let's kick racism out of football, and welcome homophobia!
Yay Qatar :/
Also, fair play to the BBC for standing up to what can only be described as a shower of unpleasantness.

The up side is that Russia will now have to inprove its infrastructure.
People from Britain at least aren't going to go to Russia based on ignorance ironically from believing everything on the BBC. Listening to the reasons fans were saying they weren't going were based just on that.
I think Russia is going to work hard on its PR and make a lot of improvements.

Aye FIFA only care that you all watch it on TV. Actually they don't care about that either unless that impacts how much money they get from the TV stations and advertisers.

Agreed.
What I found crass was the way the UK reps and there sub arrogate attitude it was in the bag as the UK had a given damn right to it. Do we have a given damn right to say that about all sports? No we bloody well don't so live with it you fat heads.
If you wanted it so much, then maybe instead of shaking hands you should have stuffed a shed load of money down there pants and slept with them.

Well to be honest Jim, if the UK had one it all the FIFA reps would be round at No. 10 to lick on Cameron's proverbials, or would that be on Beckham's golden pair?
I could see more people going to the Russian one than to Qatar...particularly given Qatars attitude towards alcohol.
Nothing wrong with Russia as a place to visit, ok there's a fair bit of back market problems, but heck, there is in the UK as well, we just hide it better.

Qatar will relax the law for the world cup, question is how far.

that may well of been the case but they would have had to pay their own air fare over and seeing as how the contract with FIFA only obligates you to relaxing immigration laws on the run up and during the actual tournament I doubt many of the leeches would have bothered taking up the invite.
FIFA is now the least credible ruling body in a major sporting discipline.

Don't forget...many Qataries leave their country to go to cooler climates during the months of June, July and August :yep:

i spot a chance for my inlaws to make some serious money.
If the flat they have isn't occupied they could rent it out for week, my father inlaw could be their driver and my mother inlaw translate.
