Both great bands, but I've just heard something which begs the question:
How are they like eachother?
I was standing in line at the counter in the supermarket, when I overheard this conversation of two boys behind me:
A: Do you know Guns'n'Roses?
B: No. What is that? (sic)
A: They are like the Rolling Stones.
Me:
The conversation then went on to some music video with Slash, where he gets date raped by a stripper.
I know he just brought Guns'n'Roses up to tell him that Slash was their guitarist, but comparing them to the Rolling Stones? I mean about the only things they've got in common is that they're playing real instruments and took a sh*tload of drugs. What the hell is wrong with people?

First I was like :o:eek:
But then I lol'd.
And then I cried.
Seriously, the youth of today doesn't know what good music is anymore (and I'm only freakin' 19 myself). They all listen to this damn hip hop noise (can't call it music) or that Bieber kid (can't call that music either).
Should I be happy that these 2 kids at least know who the Stones are, or should I be sad because they know as much about Rock music as a brainless ant?

I'm a huge Stones fan. Never liked G&R, not even a little bit.

G&R was ruined by a certain Rose
Seriously their music isn't too bad, Appetite for Destruction is the only good one.
However Axle Rose was trying so hard. I don't mind rock and rollers doing stupid stuff if that is just what they do, but to make it so obviously rock and roll, please... Liam from Oasis was the same.

Oh come on, some of their songs were not all that bad :hmmm:

Taking a leisurely trip through Exile on Main Street at the moment. Hands-down best Stones album

In my world, there is no bad music. There is only music you don't like. I haven't heard a G&R song I liked. It's just me.

For reasons of my own I've always loved Between the Buttons.
I'm currently collecting a complete Stones set. I've just purchased the Singles Collection, and have both British and American versions of most of their albums.

Quoting removes italics, ha! Oh it's late.

On mine quoting makes everything italics. Or is that what you meant?
