I went to a local department store last night looking to buy a sweater.

I am not kidding you, the place looked like it had been the target of a riot.

walking down the aisles there was merchandise all over the floor everywhere... pillows, clothes, boxes, lamps, umbrellas - if you can buy it - it was laying on the floor in the lanes.

there was literally only a few places where you could walk without having to step over the stuff laying everywhere.

I was disgusted.

it was surreal to be quite honest. i can only compare it to the condition of the landscape HERE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_suY5Y1BKWU)

there's a joke hidden here about you having a cow in your living room, a coffee plantation in your backyard and a rock hammer to grind the beans, not to mention how you made the computer when you never go shopping :DL

Much prefer to shop online...provided I know exactly what it is I am after. So do I, problem is eBay and the like is killing the retail industry,:hmmm: also the stores of a shopping center are costing the retailers around $5,000 to $10,000 per week rent, I don't know how they can afford it, some of these shops are stores like butchers, green grocer as well as shoes etc, that is a lot of sales to pay not only the rent but also wages, don't know how they do it!! The markup for goods here would be so high that in effect forces a lot of people to shop online. Now our stinking government is trying to add taxes and import duty to all items purchased on eBay, it's hard enough to survive as it is, this will really put an end to spending for a lot of people, including me!:damn:
Sucks is life!!:dead:

I sympathise with your potential dilemna.

For the western world Australia seems to be one of the few governments that treat their citizens as disrespectfully as that of the UK government at times :-?

Black Friday pretty much means "the smoke hugging the ruins of Super Target after Thanksgiving" :O:

Retail space in a non-critical area of a shopping mall in the U.S.
runs around $10,000 a month not includeing utilities.
That's an outside branch not connected to the Main Mall.
And also varies depending on the location.
This price is based on a popular Mall roughly 1 hour south of Washington D.C.

I do Construction work on stuff like this so I have a bit of a clue.

In california, the best thing to do on black friday, is to stay the F' home. The level and quanity of aggressive driving is astounding. Californians are A-holes behind the wheel, black friday ramps this up by a power of 10.
