Best Buy is featuring an I-Omega 2TB external Hard Drive with 2.0 USB connectivity for USD $129.99.
Does that seem like a reasonable/good price?

For two terrabytes? I could be wrong, but it sounds great to me. I got my WD 1TB drive for about $70, if I remember correctly.

I thought it was a good price also, but since I don't follow the cost of memory closely I wanted to ask before buying.

You get what you pay for though. Doesn't seem like the most brilliant offering.

Hmm, was gonna edit that I was an ass and prolly read about a different unit; http://reviews.cnet.com/network-storage/iomega-storcenter-ix2-1tb/4505-3382_7-33332905.html
Seems pretty clear the unit runs hot, something you definetly don't want. People generally move important data on these things, like family photos and such, so the last thing you want is for it to fail.
At any rate: be carefull with special offers when it comes to HDs. Better off paying the extra buck than risk losing valuable stuff.

Does that preclude using the drive as a back-up with limited on-time?

No, I think that's a way of limiting any risk, if any. Was considering it from a 24/7 perspective. Running high temps over prolonged periods cuts into the lifetime.
Special offers on hardware just tend to trigger some knee-jerk response in me, pretty wary of it for most components/peripherals. :-?

Now you have me wierded out. I have the i-omga 1TB drive and haven't had any problem. I was hoping to for more good ratings. But I guess it is a crap shot.
I'm just trying to make the correct decision in an imperfect world. I think it is the right decision for me...have to store the porn someshere...LOLO.

It usually is. Even the most reliable brand can get a model wrong. Some more specific digging shows similar division between customers (assuming this is the right model (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Iomega+-+Prestige+2TB+External+USB+2.0+Hard+Drive+for+Desk tops+-+Black/Gray/9933198.p?id=1218197359828&skuId=9933198&st=iomega 2tb&cp=1&lp=1)):

I can't vouch for the reliability of these "reviews", but it's something to consider.

Walmart ships for free @ USD $114.82. I'll have to pay the 5.1% sales tax in my unincorporated county, but that is still under the $129.99 mark plus the 8.03% tax rate @ the local Best Buy. $16.00 difference. And $16.00 is $16.00.
