more accurately, rhymes with "theme" - and it's an idea closely related to "theme" as well.
It's "meem" and it rhymes with "cream."
Not mem.

You are welcome. I can only emphasize to you, once again, that 30 seconds worth of Googling would have yielded the same answer.

the bad thing is that most websites display it as /ˈmiːm/
lots of us don't know IPA unfortunately

Yes, many do not. You asked because you didn't know the IPA. The Third Man stated to the contrary just to be difficult, so my comment was directed at him, not you.

this is why there are pronouncing dictionaries on the Internets Tubes.

The IPA codes are difficult to read for many words.

According to Urban Dictionary:
In mexican spanish it means sleep.
"hacer la meme"
"to do the meme"
estoy muy cansado, voy a hacer la meme.
I'm very tired, I'm going to do the meme.
por favor no hagas la meme con mi esposa.

I plugged meme into Babelfish and all that came back was meme. :06:
It could be a colloquialism, but I can't be certain.
EDIT: Nevermind, Spike is on top of it.
I didn't think the term meme could get any gayer, until I heard it pronounced. I now stand corrected!
The term meme is a very old one by the way, and in sociology the idea of cultural memes is an important one. Like most things though, it was taken over and ruined by nasty connotations, courtesy of the Internet :88)
