Yes, many do not. You asked because you didn't know the IPA. The Third Man stated to the contrary just to be difficult, so my comment was directed at him, not you.

It could be a colloquialism, but I can't be certain.

The term meme is a very old one by the way, and in sociology the idea of cultural memes is an important one. Like most things though, it was taken over and ruined by nasty connotations, courtesy of the Internet :88)
