Choosing Output

My computer has an HDMI port that allows me to watch whatever is on screen on my HD TV, I can close the lid on my laptop and use the HD tv as my screen. I occasionally use this to watch movies/shows I have on my computer on my TV.



Now I want to watch videos I have on my computer on my TV while viewing something separate on my computer monitor. So for example I could watch a movie I have saved while playing Minecraft. Is it possible to force VLC or another program to use one output?

Sure...set it up as a dual monitor system where instead of mirroring the image, you extend the desktop. Shouldn't be hard to do under Control Panel.:up:
