A school official at Denair Middle School told Cody some students had been complaining about the flag and it was no longer allowed on school property.

I can only hope that there is more to this story than meets the eye.

When I grew up they had a flag in every classroom and every morning we pledged our allegance to that flag.

Were so screwed :nope:

They're afraid the flag might raise racial tensions? That's just weird. The policy is weird. The whole thing is weird.

On the the other hand, since we're talking about schools...

Were so screwed :nope:

This is one of those things that makes me wonder just how many screws have come loose in our society. We better keep our wits about us if we're to survive the coming Dark Ages. :-?

We're not just a God-fearing people, apparently. Even contrails scare us half to death. :haha:

I must say this is the one thing of which I much prefer the US way of doing things than the European way.

Here in Europe freedom of speech only goes for the minorities. I'm damn sure I can take a Moroccan or Turkish flag anywhere I want, but put up a Dutch flag and you're in trouble. I can curse jesus christ himself to hell and nobody cares (neither would I), but say anything derogatory about Mohammad in public and you've both got the local muslim street gangs and the law enforcement agencies on your back.

Damn, a few years ago some school with a majority of Dutch students even tried to abolish Christmas activities in favor of Ramadan, because the Muslim minority found christmas offending:nope:

If it's California, I imagine it would have something to do with the pssing contest between the Mexican flag wavers and the American flag wavers that always heats up during 4th of July and Cinco de Mayo. The school district probably (and thoughtlessly) put a blanket ban on flags of any kind on campus.

That evidently I am one of those narrow minided racisist bigot homophobes nut job tea baggers.

Another childhood memory was doing duck and cover drills hiding under my school desk cowering in fear as military jets swoosh over my house during the Cuban missle Crisis.

Maybe that explains a few things as well ;)

That is what I thought. :DL Like I said, my kids say the pledge everyday. In some states or counties I do not understand why some do what they do. Mookie has a good answer for this one incident. See above.
