Is there any out there that is similar? By far it was my favorite game. And is there a way i can play it again? What kind of downloads needed?

The steps required to play PTO IV, are actually illegal. Although there is a loophole if you own the original game, and dump your bios from your PS2.

As for games that are like it, I haven't played PTO, but you may want to try Pacific Storm. You can get it off steam.

Think PTO 4 was a lot like the Battlestations games.
You should try the first 2, now those are naval games. :)

Forgot about Battlestations. First two? There are only two.
I'd recommend Battlestations: Pacific as it does have a Japanese campaign on top of the American one.

Think he's referring to P.T.O. and P.T.O. II.

Oh I see now. Whoops.
He was saying PTO is like the old Battlestations(which were on the PS1?)
But yeah look into Battlestations Pacific.

I did mean the first 2 P.T.O. games. No 3D, but tons of options and possibilities, much closer to a sim covering the entire P.T.O., much like War in the Pacific does today (though with even far more depth).
Battlestations Midway and Pacific give you control over the ships, aircraft, etc directly in 3rd-person and let you fight out battles, though its far from realistic (subs in Midway made me cry) and theres nothing between the battles.
Only know the Battlestations games on PC; played Midway an hour or so and tried the demo for Pacific. Couldnt stand any more of it. :-?
*seems theres more to P.T.O. IV than I thought; was under the impression they took out all the management/strategy elements. In that case Id say War in the Pacific comes closest, though its a complex beast.
