Black ops(cod 7), um lets see, same engine as last time, same game play as last time, a story that nobody would ever pay attention to, same voice acting as last time.
Oh, right. A few new guns and a bit more trees
its totally worth the money, right?
anyways, I'm still waiting for the new delta force
I have a bad feeling that its not coming :shifty:

MW2 engine and gameplay are good, I don't see the need for a completely new one.
Just like CoD:MW vs. CoD:WaW. Nothing new in CoD:WaW, yet I absolutely love WaW. And even prefer it to MW2.

I guess this thread should be moved

Anyways, if this was any other game, Black Ops should have been an expansion pack
come on, new skins+ new map + new guns+new campaign is usually an expansion pack or DLC, and not a full price game
Its just like the uboat missions for silent hunter 4
but you know, little kids will still wait in line for the latest version of cod

beating a dead horse. It looks good...but it feels like more of MW2 v2.0 than a new game. Im sure the hackers will have another ball on it like in pc.

So my roommates are playing it right now, and all I see/hear from it tells me that it's a Nazi Zombie shooter starring the Heavy from Team Fortress 2. :o:doh:

WAW is great, just wish had more missions to play and wasnt so scripted.Prob the most intense WW II shooter ive played. Love that its PTO and in later war.Wish it had covered Saipan then Peleliu though.

Starting 4th mission and the game has had more explosions than the whole production of Michael Bay put together. Including shooting windows of a warehouse with minigun which resulted in blowing up the building.

You mean that's not what happens in real life!? :har:

Completed the SP campaign and TBH IMO it's better than MW2.
Probably for a large part because I much prefer both the theatre and the time period:)

There are some historical inconsistencies though... One being the availability of certain weapons long before they were even designed:hmmm:

All in all I'd say a combination between Platoon, Apocalypse Now (some PBR action:DL) and James Bond (including underseas villain-owned bases)

Any reason why I must stop playing ArmA 2 and play this? :O:

Steyr AUG, SPAS-12, FAMAS, and Kobra red dot sights in the 1960s? Check.

M16A1 with three-round burst and removable carrying handle? Check.

Over a hundred Iowa-class battleships in service with the USN during the 1960s? Check.

Robert McNamara and Richard Nixon fighting zombies in the Pentagon? Check.

What could possibly go wrong?

You forgot Kennedy sounding like the mayor from The Simpsons. :O:

Which considering Ted Kennedy was the basis for the voice I guess is fair enough, but still, Castro, Kennedy, Fidel and McNamara fighting zombies, it's certainly an approach no-one has tried before.

Perhaps the next DLC should have Thatcher, Kinnock, Wilson and Major. Could you imagine that?

Kinnock could have an extra chance of being tripped:

This is just plain ridiculous. I'm two missions in and literally every weapon I've come across is a historical anachronism.

Not a single word about this in all the reviews I've read.

It's a little surprising, no one is going to point to the COD franchise as the benchmark in milsim authenticity, but generally they do get the broad context of the theatres they portray right.

You want to try and find some small gaming site to get a real review when it comes to big titles. Sadly, larger gaming sites tend to be biased and give you "fairy tales" in these cases. :nope:

Just played and the four things that stand out:
No cover system, and yet they expect you to take cover to survive.

Shotguns:
1.Have a really small range, sure I don't expect to kill someone halfway across the map, but people who seem to be in range, don't take damage. This is even more noticeable on the long barreled hunting shotgun thing. The kicker about this is, as soon as you get on a motorcycle and drive around ala Terminator style with the shotgun, suddenly the range is a lot better.
2. Take forever to pump(although there is a perk for this in MP)
3. Several times have I ran into someone coming around a corner, I pull the trigger and hear the gun go off,and yet they kill me with a knife.
4. Seem to lag online. You kill someone with it, and it takes a second longer for the game to realize you killed them compared to other guns.
5. This all seems to be to balance them out, which makes little sense when you look at all the other unbalanced guns.

AI:
Makes the ARMA 2 AI look like the best AI, ever.
Friendly AI runs past enemies, fails to engage them properly. Takes cover in stupid positions. Gets in the way. Etc.

Napalm can kill you inside buildings, despite the hallways not being on fire?

Other than that it's pretty much the same formula as the last three games. Good for some quick run in gun kill stuff fun.

Also as a side not, I'm playing my families version on the family 360. Xbox Live sucks, too many whiny kids/*******s/etc. I miss PSN.

I'm glad I'm no the one paying for live.

as funny as that review was it was spot on about the game, nothing but confused repetition and you never know whats going on most of the time.

Actually I thought thecampaign was pretty amazing. Especially with the voices of Ed Harris, Ice Cube, and Gary Oldman. Though in order to get the full story I learned long ago to play with subtitles on. The characters say some pretty important things when you happen to be pinned down in a firefight. just my observations.

Even though it was just like playing MW2 i still found it fun. Plus there is a copy of Zork in the game.

Annoying 11 year olds whining into your headset? Check

the stupidest thing is the way they include a mission to kill Fidel Castro. they couldnt kill him in real life and now they try kill him virtually. to me thats the equivelant of a game where the goal is to kill Nelson Mandela.
