View Full Version : Must have mods for Mount & Blade: Warband?
Any must have mods I should be aware of for MBW?

I liked Age of Change quite a lot, mainly for the muskets and sound effects.
Nah, I prefer something with no firearms. Hate them.

I'm with you there, Dowly. Firearms would ruin what Mount and Blade is all about, namely medieval mounted combat.
Seems like alot of the bigger mods all have muskets in them. :shifty:
Well, there's Warhammer mod coming up that looks pretty sweet. The Chaos warrior is as should; BIG. :DL

Holy smoke. :o
I haven't played Warband in some time, so that is definitely new to me.

Some Renaissance-style mods with pike and shot warfare I enjoyed quite a bit, like The Eagle and the Radiant Cross...

Brytenwalde (SP?) is rather epic, set in britain during the 7th and 8th centuries.
1257AD is also pretty good, though it's still not finished. Set in Europe and the Middle East (Imagine the Medieval 2 map in M&B) With most of the factions from the time and some graphical tweaks :yeah:
Stop it...my want to get the full game is rising even though I sucked at the demo... :haha:

Sucked in the demo? Would that be of the 'Walk around a few minutes, run into a large group of bandits, get captured, get away, repeat' sort that happens in every new game?

Aye, I discovered that the
1. Buy iron to sell it with higher price
2. Get captured and lose it
3. ??????
4. Profit!
method was missing something...
EDIT: FYI, don't try replacing the #1 in above method with "Buy 1300g armor with your hard earned money", didn't work either. :shifty:
Glad I'm not the only one then. I spent more time with the Bandits than I did with the guys I recruited! :har:
Well, I went with the Diplomacy mod for now, should help me when I get castles and such. Tried the 1257AD but it was sluggish, with 2-3 seconds of black screen in-between pretty much every screen, also the world map was too busy, with the ground and the trees all the same color.
Amazing how few simple armor/weapon mods there are (that I have seen so far).

I almost mentioned that one earlier. Auto-recruit and training are good features.
Iīve played this mod for a while and itīs great fun.
Online play with character leveling.

I've just started using the Diplomacy mod. It really does make managing your kingdom a bit more, well, manageable. The recruitment and training features are key. Otherwise, you have to personally recruit and train every soldier in your kindgom, which is ridiculous.

On that note....
Diplomacy + Pre-Battle Orders & Deployment (Diplo v3.3.2 + PBOD v0.81) for 1.134
