After New York and Berlin, now London is getting the subway treatement by TML studios: the Circle Line.

One can argue the playing value of a sim like that, but it surely looks nice. I have the Berlin title, and recognised the stations easily. They are pretty detailed.

Bayswater, anyone?

YES!!

Circle line is a good choice, lots of above and underground sections, runs alongside the District and Metropolitan lines (IIRC) for several sections.

This is going on my 'want' list. :yep:

They should do one for the Moscow Metro.

Now that would be awesome.

Does the New York version include Muggings ? :p2:

I hope they include the mice down in the suicide pits and on the platforms (although usually only on the platforms during quiet times)

Or the pigeons...definitely the pigeons.

"I saw one once get on at Gunnersbury. When the train pulled in at Stamford Brook, the pigeon waddled over to the door, and looked expectantly at it. Since there was no one on the other side, a woman got up and opened the door for the bird, which flew off...

I got the distinct impression that that pigeon had done that journey before..."

:haha:

Damn it, it's like something is conspiring to make me buy Railworks. I really don't want to get into another simulator, but the idea of cruising peacefully along on a big ol' train is more and more appealing by the day... Especially with visuals like that!

Know what it is that you will get. I have the Berlin title, and it is nice for me because it serves my memories like something like an interactive postcard. It is little "game" in games like this - if there is no real interest in the object described in a sim like this, a gamer will most likely be bored. You do not play it that much, you instead make it move so that you can watch images.

Judging by the Berlin title, the visual quality probably will be very, very good, though.

Indeed, I've yet to actually play Berlin or Path, but I've watched many youtube videos and the features (such as changing ends, going out on the platform) are very impressive for an independent studio.
The pictures so far show a Circle line which is quite grimy, run down in places, with bits of metal left on the side in the tunnels, battered brickwork on the embankments, foliage growing through the ballast on the tracks.
The station is a mixture of old brickwork with occasional new items such as health and safety equipment with a dash of graffiti.
It's certainly got the feel of the real thing. I'll be more judgmental when the trains appear and the sounds appear, but visuals wise, like you say, it does not disappoint in the slightest.

I just learned that TML currently is working on not one but TWO projects. The other is San Francisco: http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?p=1524425#post1524425

But it's not the Tube without someone strumming a guitar or playing a harmonica.

Heck, one time I was down there there was a chap at...London Bridge I think it was, playing the Bagpipes  Mice down in the suicide pits too. :yeah:

For those of us who love electric model trains, but don't have the space to put one, this is perfect. :sunny:
