Do any of the submarine history buffs around here know if there is historical evidence for US submarines doing reconnaissance mission(s) on Osaka harbor? If not , I'll just ignore this one mission.
I'm somehow trying to rationalize committing in-game career suicide by attempting a photo recon mission in late 1943. Far too many warships and gunboats patrolling such shallow waters deep inside Japan. I would think intel would just send a spy instead of an expensive submarine and its crew.
I've gotten within 10 nautical miles of Osaka but that's about it.

Are you running mods or stock? Some harbor recons did take place but Osaka, no.Waters were too shallow, prob mined and heavily patroled.

Hehe,
They had a main net at Gabo that extended about 12 miles, parts were fixed, others moved out of the way by tugs. I couldn't find out about entering Tokyo and the Bungo. They were netted, but exact locations I don't know.
