Thx stoppro :salute:
I hope more post so I can get an average for a test I'm doing on a new rig I built.

Thx TDW :salute: I will definitely will be useing your mods as well as others to get the full enjoyment.
I posted on H\S forum the specs for a cheap build for SH5.
If this rig plays well with reasonable fps and no hiccups maybe other members, who have expessed rig price is, the only reason for not getting SH5,will get some benifit from my build.
Thx again all you SH5 Modders. :salute:

yeah I should clarify that my 60fps solid with v-sync enabled is also all options enabled and set to max. Screen res is 1920 X 1200 in windowed mode (which is much harder for a game to render than fullscreen)

I overclock my asus EAH5870 V2 at 950/1300 . I might get another one and run SLI .

Thx again TDW and sober. This info and anymore I get will help in giveing a proper test to this rig.:DL

That asus EAH 5770 card looks like a good overclocker , and thats without increasing voltage which i never do anyway .

Thx for the tip sober. Will try that after I get a base fps.
Also will OC the CPU after base.

Sober you said you had V-Sync on but on the screen it's off.:D

So, is it better to have v-sync on or off?

I can't remember what option I choose for vsync, but my rig barely runs SHV and I think if I leave V-sync off it jumps, like every second it will jump to 60 and then down to 8. makes the game irritatingly unplayable. turn it on and then it stays at a nice, jittery 9 fps.
EDIT: might as well post my specs.
2.4 dual core processor
ASUS AH3450 512 AGP (my MoBo is from the jurassic age)
3 gigs RAM
thats as much as I can remember from the top of my head

I think it's your graphics card that's holding you back. As you can seen from my sig, I have a card that is only a little better, and, albeit with the graphics options set at Medium, I can play quite smoothly. I've been looking to get a superior card, so I can play at much higher settings, and there are used cards out there, for ASUS, that are less than $100.
Just my two cents... :DL

So 60 fps is the sweet spot huh ? Modded or unmodded ?
With this cheap build I want to get a base fps with all things checked.
Then I'm going to mod it up and see what fps it gets. :D
It will take some time but I will post the numbers as I get the feel of SH5 Stock then Modded.
To those that jump to the bottom of a thread and post without, knowing what this topic is all about :haha:
Read my Cheap Build thread in Hardware\Software.

Sweetspot? That's just the max; V-sync limits FPS to screen refresh rate to avoid tearing. Most LCDs don't go above 60Hz.
* getting 45-65 on bridge in bunker, 60-75 in CR. GTX460, unmodded game, windowed.

This rig isn't my primary game computer. I built this one on an affordable budget with quality hardware specificialy to play SH5 and Rof-ICE that, require internet connection. I'm trying to see how it handles these two games numbers wise, compared to more expensive rigs.
My primary gameing rig doesn't have and never will have internet connection, antivirus or, alot of other things running in the background.
So it's hdd will never see these two games.
Btw. I only play Flight, Racing and Sub games.

I knows, followed the thread. :)
Edited in some data that will hopefully be usefull in your comparison.
*btw, "affordable budget" does not compute with 16GB RAM. :O:

I couldn't help myself. :haha: That I admit was a little extravigant.:DL The mobo will handle it and, I can always use it as backup on other rig.

Certainly won't hurt. Never a bad thing to have some spare RAM. :yep:

Well you could always have gone with 8gb and you would've been able to spend $120 more on a better CPU or Graphics card.
IE: for just $50 spend more on the Graphics card you could have gotten a nice Nvidia 460GTX 1gb that would have given you a way better peformance in SHV and Rise of Flight then that HD5770.
