Watch crew staying below - why?

Okay, so I have this issue where the watch crew stays below after I've surfaced the boat. What could cause this?

Is it during your first "training" patrol? If so, the watch crew goes below decks and stays there until you finish the mission and start a new patrol. Otherwise I have no clue.

I wonder how many people have bought sh5 , loaded it up and wondered why half the game is missing without realising its the tutorial and you dont get the full game until after you have completed the first mission and reached base . They have probably shelved it before completing the first mission .

I didn't put it on the shelf, and I still play it every day, but I do remember asking myself if the watch crew was ever going to come back up on the long return to Kiel.

Perhaps since it's the first patrol, the watch crew was still getting their sea legs and were stuck in a line waiting around the head until you could get back to Kiel. :haha:
