Need to get one to clean gunk off concrete and general washing around the house. Know nothing about them so if anyone has any ideas on what to get let me know.

Drink a couple of the giant Australian beers we have heard so much about, you will find one between your legs a few hours later... :03:

I think it's more about the Nozzle than, about the Hose. :haha:

I'm thinking more along these lines. http://www.karcher.com.au/aus/Products/Home__Garden/Pressure_washers/Entry_class.htm

OK. :yep: You want a pressure washer. I bought one simular 3500 psi with steam option. They work good and come in handy for alot of jobs around the homestead. :DL

Wise purchase

Yep but there is a huge array of them and what works best for what?

I went kinda overkill with the 3500 psi. 1500-2500 psi is fine for home use..

I would recommend one with the steam option.

I'm not familiar with the brands on your link. I bought a Craftmans at Sears.

A well built one in the $200.00 range should have a 2-3 yr warranty.

I bought a relatively cheap one and instantly wished I'd spent the extra on a Karcher - you do pay for the quality.

What is the difference between the Karcher models?

This one is what I've used for a couple of years now and is used to wash the concrete patio, timber decking, car etc:

I guess the bigger the numbers the more pressure? (and the more expensive!)

Nah....just wait for the regular sales at B&Q etc.

The more expensive models don't tend to sell and benefit from bigger reductions :DL

I picked mine up for £110

They don't look like they do that model over here and this is the closest one I can find to that spec in the local catalogue: http://www.karcher.com.au/aus/Products/Home__Garden/Pressure_washers/Medium_class/16364230.htm

I'll price it up and see what they are charging for them.

If your after patio/car cleaning etc. the lower models will suffice because they all have a pretty good water pressure rating.

Oh yeah there is such a thing as too much pressure. The last thing you want is to strip the paint off!

Rgr that....I usually change over to the low pressure lance for use on the car.

How embarrassing would that be? driving into a paint garage and telling them you've stripped the paint off your vehicle
