The naturalness by which such demands are being directed at the Europeans as if Europe just would be another federal state of the union, indeed is something that is pissing me. Also the almost non-existence of American data protection standards. Whether they are always followed over here, is something different, but at least by law and on paper European data protection is of a standard that renders the American ones as almost non-existing indeed. Plus there is no independent checks and balances on them in the US. Data get stored for decades - with nobody knowing and being able to tell for sure in whose hands they end up, and to whom they are being sold and made accessible. Considering the carelessness and different business mentality of America ("anything goes"), it is a reason to worry. And if I would want to travel to the US, I would need to accept a data raising procedure in advance that goes far beyond what you would need to log in files and information if for example you are sentenced by a court and must enter prison to serve poenalty time there.
That America now demands unlimited regular access to my private life's data traffic here in Germany, clearly passes the red line. It's globalised Big Brother - always hungry, unlimited in scope, unlegitimate, and beyond any independent control.
That SWIFT thing never should have been allowed, the new VISA rules as well. If that would have hampered traffic to the US, well, that's that then. And we desperately and most urgently need to break the dominance of US-based internet main servers, where the US has all access to them, but nobody knows whjat and when is getting done. I don't have the feeling that this actor is suited well and has an according sense of responsibility to wield all these powerful tools. It'S too much power for one player acting anything but selfless and altruistic.

One would think that the Al Qaida attacks scare thats around in Europe these days is a way of softening us to cave in to the US demands :hmmm: now theres a conspiracy

According to former foreign minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier it's what all good Germans want nay strive for. How can you have global peace and security without knowing what everyone is thinking? We must have global security and this is the only way, your private life is nothing compared to that Skybird. We must have knowledge of any possible subversive activities you may have once had or are continuing to affiliate yourself with. The America only wants to share in that responsibility it is the new order. Knowing what people think is the way to better security once that is mastered we can then control it. So be a good German Skybird help America and Germany make the world a better place. Join us the zeros of the world.

:damn:
I'd suggest to tap into the mind of this ex foreign minister. He sounds dangerous for global peace and global security with his ideas. . .
Never mind tapping into the mind of everybody. What they need to do is tapping into the mind of other elites and top figures. How would they like that?!
The real question is how you maintain TOTAL control in some Machiavellin dictatorship without knowing what everyone is thinking?! You can't because the very idea of dictatorship attracts dissents and dissidents...it's not sustainable though extendable through use of coercion and state sanctioned violence and persecution and distraction such as economic achievement.
Truth is internet is nothing compared to the more 'off stream' way of extracting information from people: Right through their mind and heart.
I believe the word is remote viewing and IT'S REAL. People have been more open about it but what's been disclosed demonstrated to the public is nothing more than the amateur capability of this method.
It's a lot more intrusive(though most people wouldn't realize anything) than just sketching and sensing abstract things and ideas.
People will be afraid and become paranoid once they know the full extent of this capability that is one possible reason they are not disclosing its full capability, the other that it is may be so effective that it becomes essentially a super weapon in itself. Worse is it leaves no evidence and requires no instrument unlike electronic tapping. Nobody would know anything. It has and it will be abused from time to time. People kid around tin hat unfortunately that will not work or ever going to be in even in the slightest respect.
Men need to control their ego and keep check on them and their desires or else he'll be the ruin of the society and even civilization in general. There's nothing worse than power at the hands of the immorals. If you disagree with this do make the realization that that it's the good men and good and noble principles which are maintaining the cohesion of society and civilization progress. If this very second everybody becomes immorals we'll see the end of mankind civilization and civilized worlds or even existence in rapid order of time. Being immoral in action is no strength nor it is a privilege it's a weakness a disease, a cancer of the society. It's a vice and nothing good can come out of it. NOTHING. If you think that it's fear that's making people to obey the rule and the rulers are exception to that rule note that being immoral or moral is a decision, a principle held and believed and internalized and that means everybody in effect can be either moral or immoral by the power of decision and free will. What is rule when nobody respects them but a tool to suppress the the righteous?

I read the title of this thread, and this is the first thing that I thought of:

As every "good German" who has learned from history and being of a minimum of sanity, I despise Stasi methods, no matter whether implemeneted by the GDR, the chancellor or the USA.
And no, the German government is nothing I obey to, move one finger for, or give my loyalty to.
Nor is it yours.

Well Skybird, just make sure you speak and send your email in German and I'm sure you will not have a thing to worry about. Oh make sure too that your papers reveal you're no less than 98% Aryan blood and that it can be traced back at least 250 years. I think you know the routine.

Moral imposters like you hiding their racism behind moral lectures - that always is the best show you can get for your money.
