Publicity stunt no doubt, but it made the kids' day, so who cares. :)

Curious: do you think is "English" accent is any good?
(On the flip side, Bob Hoskins does a perfect working class American accent, IMHO)
What a lovely gesture. :yeah: Even if it's just a publicity stunt, it's in good taste and well done (compared to other such stunts that 'celebrities' have engaged in over the years), but I don't think it was due to the fact that the school only found out ten minutes in advance and the worlds media wasn't alerted.
Furthermore:
He made a secret visit to Great Ormond Street Hospital in January 2008 to donate £1million to say thank you for saving his daughter's life, just months after making a clandestine visit to the wards to tell bedtime stories to sick children on the wards dressed as Captain Sparrow.
So, again, what a lovely chap. I hope I'll bump into him sometime, I know the rumour is he's looking at a place around near Bury St Edmunds, so who knows. :03:

Which sort of English accent?
So its in the open now about the various film locations

Bit hard to keep it in the dark about the Old Naval College though.
Apparently though when they're not filming you can walk through the set area so I imagine we'll get some good pics on the net soon.
I doubt they'd need to do too much though because the Old Naval College dates to the era they're using, so it's just a case of removing modern amenities, and trying desperately to film without the noise of aircraft going overhead drowning everything out (good luck with that guys :haha:).

Saw part of the YouTube video on the news this morning. In the clip they showed he said, "We are taking over this school, and we shall all eat candy."
That would make any kids' day. What an awesome guy. :DL

His English accent is not too bad, heard a lot worse, heck of a lot worse. :haha:
The other Captain Jack does a good American accent, so good in fact that most people think he IS American...I certainly did:

Then of course, there's Hugh Laurie...many people have mistaken him for an American:

Thing about America is there are so many accents you can't always be sure there isn't a region where they talk like that. I know the UK has a lot of accents but that's nothing compared to the US, accents very here not just state to state but within the same state... ;)
