I know im posting alot here, but I just suck :P

So, I just died from flooding in the English Channel after a destroy ran me over.

How do I stop flooding quickly? A bigger repair crew? Machinsts?

Other than increasing the efficiency of the repair team as much as possible, and assigning them to work on the compartment where flooding poses the most immediate threat, I don't know what else you can do.

Sometimes the damage taken is more than the boat can withstand even when you're doing everything you can.

Thanks.

Also, does surfacing stop flooding?

In real life, I would assume that the decreased water pressure would alleviate it somewhat. Whether the game models that, I don't know. But I wouldn't count on it stopping just because you surfaced. Even running on the surface, the majority of your boat is still in and under the water. Being on the surface doesn't stop any other kind of ship from taking water if it's damaged to that extent, and given the u-boat's low profile the decks themselves are barely above the surface most of the time and may actually be under it sometimes depending on the weather and sea state.

Many u-boats surfaced after taking damage while submerged and still sank, sometimes from the damage already sustained and sometimes because their crews caused even more damage deliberately in order to scuttle the boats so they wouldn't fall into enemy hands. So it's entirely possible for a u-boat to surface and still take enough water to be beyond saving.

While I'm here, I wish the game modeled periscope flooding.

I'm pretty sure if you surface, the Destroyer that ran you over will help you finish scuttleing your boat :haha:

Yeah, that's the other thing. Surfacing in the absence of any threat to finish your repairs is one thing.

Surfacing in the presence of whatever enemy unit caused the damage is quite another.

I've done it, if I felt I had no choice - I figure it's better to pretend that we made it to the surface and abandoned ship even if the game doesn't see it that way.

Or have a few minutes of glory fighting with the deck gun :yep: :yep:

Meh, for some reason Destroyers never hit anything.

I just hate it when they circle you and you have to wait until theyre near 180 or 0 degrees... that just sucks

Hmmm... Side torpedoes? *writes down idea*

I guess you could mount them the way they did on surface warships.... But I'd imagine that would create excess drag :hmmm:

Also a huge explosion if hit....

Or do torpedoes need 300 m to activate...

You have a figure 8 shape hull like the Sen Toku and just mount the tubes inside the boat... :haha::har:

Be careful that the destroyer doesn't decide to use you for torpedo practice.
They can fire a bigger salvo than you, and don't need you to be at 000 or 180.
(Although it has been done in the real world, you're quite safe in SH3.)

No offense, but you have no idea what you're talking about. You aren't posting at all, statistically speaking. :D

Spontaneous way, I think it sounds far-fetched that a different e-mail would influence you to lose 600 poster,if you have a built-in security to prevent this type of email account, then the answer is obvious.
