老匪once said:3 Japanese divisions is as good as a million strong German army(in WWII)
the reasoning:
in the Nomonhan Incident, There was 10000 active Japanese combat troops(1 B standard division), verses 70000 soviet troops(August 20)
According to Soviet sources, the Soviet Union used around 920 tanks and armored cars.
the japanese army destroyed around 300 tanks and around 100 armored cars
300 tanks and 100 armored cars destroyed per 10000troops
in comparison, at Kursk, the German army only destroyed 2200 Soviet tanks and an unknown number of armored cars
so, on average, the German army destroys 22tanks per 10000 troops
therefore, 1 Japanese division is about as good as 15-20 German divisions
on average, each German division has around 10000-20000troops
therefore, 3 Japanese divisions are as good as 1 million German troops:har:

JUst because of 1 incident, which is just 1, not an entire war, doesnt mean japanese troops are better then german. When we fought the japs on THEIR islands, They took almost total casualties. when we fought the germans, we took significantly more casualties because they had MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH better tanks (the japanese tanks sucked, truthfully), better trained and equipped men, and this was out in the fields and small towns of northern europe. There wasnt as much cover and places to hide then on an island. an island is much easier to defend. Its compact, you can build deep tunnels, they have to come by sea or paradropped, and you can have every type of reinforcement. thats why we took so many casualties fighting the japanese. if we fought them out in the open like northern europe, theyd just get annhilated. theyre strength was in their navy. cant bring an aircraft carrier into the heart of northern europe, or a battleship. theyd have to rely on air power for any chance, and we proved capable of smashing their airpower. their army was well disciplined, fighting on their own soil, and fighting guerrilla style. but they were pretty poorly equipped. their tanks sucked, and discipline and guerilla fighting on foreign soil with less cover only gets you so far when your up against such a powerful enemy.
when we fought the germans, they were WELL equipped and highly trained. We won by numbers and strategy, and pretty good equipment. A german tank commander once said, "One tiger could take on 5 shermans, but they always seemed to have 6". Plus hitler was a poor strategist, mainly because he let greed and personal agenda overlook facts.
The japanese were fierce, highly disciplined, but they simply wouldnt be able to hold out. and if they cant hold out vs US troops, they cant hold out against germans. the russians also fought fiercly, and the germans couldnt handle winter fighting, and their tanks broke down too much. the russians pretty much fought as fierce or even more fiercly then the japanese, leading MASS, MASS suicidal charges against SS troops. Thats some ballsy stuff right there.
to wrap it up in a nutshell, 3 divisions couldnt hold out against a million germans. plain and simple. they would be pulverized in a a very short amount of time.

He could've at least gotten the numbers if he was going to make such claims... :stare:
The Japanese army performed awfully against the Soviets and it would have performed awfully against the Germans. It really didn't know how to fight an open land war.

It's not the battle itself that won the war ...
It was the supply lines.
The Japanese were surrounded by water and the US submarines along with allied air power cut their
supply lines ...
Therefore they lost :know:

This guy 老匪is a huge joke

Sure it could, it would just wait until the King Tiger broke down and then drove past laughing.

I have a theory as well... A single B-29 is more powerful than the entire Japanese Empire... :03:
:O:
Edit: the Germans would just wait till those crappy Japanese HMG reach the end of their belts (about five seconds in to the battle) and then hosed them down with MG-42s for the next five minutes (at which point the Germans would have to reload)
