View Full Version : Easy way to run SH3

Alot of people think this involves starforce, or the OS it runs on.
But, instead of going through all that crap,
If you havent bought SH3 yet, buy it off steam.
As long as ANY steam game has a steam folder, it doesnt use the OS.

I'm not disagreeing with you but many folk like to have a physical game disc and the newer ones are devoid of SF and already patched to 1.4b.
IMO, I think it's best to have the disc of SH3, and I have not bought it from steam

Except for the part where Steam won't sell to me because they say I'm outside the United States (I live in Utah).
You can buy a Starforce-free fully-patched disc from Amazon for $10 now, and it includes SH2.
Steam, will clearly need to update their geographical knowledge :yep:

I like steam better than CDs, because if you lose a cd, bye bye. But steam you can just log in, download, and poof
You'll have to store the disc in a safe manner, under your pillow when you sleep, perhaps

Conversely, if you somehow lose your files you have to log in and re-download it, and some people have complained of problems with that.
With my CD, which after five years is still in the box good-as-new, I just pop it in and poof.
Actually I use the newer Starforce-free disc, but the principle is the same. I still have discs for games I bought twenty years ago, all in perfect shape. And I move around a lot.
Actually, I still have my VIC-20 - and my wife still loves the cartridge with slot machines on it. And one of these days I'm gonna fire up the Commodore 128 and my first sub game ...... on floppy disk - TRUE floppy, not the hard-shell one they call by that nowadays!

I still can not believe UbiSoft recommends the Reloaded crack to
play SH3 when they released a PRE-STARFORCE version of the Game!
Why did they not release the files in question for all?
It's not like you can not get them.
As a good friend use to say,
ArseHats!
I have no comment on Utah.
Is that in the U.S.A.?

I could say a lot!
But I'm not going to!
:har:
Yeah, sure, I'll ditch a physical disk [which I can duplicate and still use to install the game] in favour of a method that relies on a company's future existence [Hello Ubi and DRM which requires a live internet connection.] I'll put my Steam game next to my deed for that bridge in Brooklyn which I bought from a hot dog vendor.
