That was a close one, the union vote swang it his way. Hey Ed, now you have to deliver the goods they want. ;)
Now how left will he swing?
1% yes it was close, no further margin width

Your spot on in your statement
I wonder if Ed will give Dave the shadow foreign minister job? :hmmm:
So, is Labour, now, a family business?
:hmmm:

I think probably not, quite the opposite

Was Thatcher elected from the Labor party?
My answer was tax break, and no Iron Lady...

Milliband or Milliband, lesser of two evils, both idiots both untrustworthy, looks like tories for another term.
Notice how all recent party leaders all seem to have studied PPE at Oxford.
Seriously none of the current crop seem to have any experience in the real world except Vince Cable.
Milliband Evil he has worked in thinktanks since university and Ed (stupid one) the same.
Hmmm .... Ed's chances for success are then relatively small, or nonexistent
Labor? Does that mean they are socialists?
To us no they not, they are like democrats (middle left) - but by Neocon standards, they quite possibly look socialist, given the party history.
We have an actual socialist party in the Uk but they are not popular (they fall under the 'others' catagory if you know what i mean)
Hell, In the UK we have the same type of health care system that Obama is trying to introduce in the U.S (the NHS)
We brits often joke about it, but I can tell you that If any goverment tried to scrap it, there would likley be riots!
Right now we have a coalition governement, but its lead by the conservatives (middle-right) to be honest.
I actually worked in their campaign hq during the election (although Im not really a fan), but it payed the bills and it was intreasting experience none the less :).
Oh and Thatcher was a Conservative.

His only chance is if the coalition cocks it up or falls apart. :hmmm:

I'm sorry but I'm struggling to make much sense out of what your trying to allude to http://imgcash6.imageshack.us/img87/339/dunnohq4.gif
I'm off to the pub for a beer before they raise the taxes http://imgcash4.imageshack.us/img232/3151/iconbeerhr9.gif

Put taxes up on beer and there will be riots in the streets and England will go up in smoke! :shifty:

The lowest around here is £3.40 up to £5.00 for a pint.

It's the reason we still have all of those canals full of rubbish and rusty shopping trolleys, it's less about ambiance, more the need for more steam. It's what powers the city council buildings and the dss offices and the job centre, don't cha know :yep:
Steam powered buildings! What ever next? Steam powered internetz?

That is frighteningly accurate IMHO :yep:
If Ed doesn't 'deliver' to the unions he will last one failed election campaign at best.
I'm hoping to be 'somewhere' that David should be at in a week or two's time but I doubt he'll be making any reference of a similar nature during his conversations.

Some 10% of the votes from unions didn't count as they didn't tick the box confirming they were labour members!
And a pint in my village local is about £2.70 iirc from Saturday night :nope:

£1.35 in my local and that includes dark ale and lager.I assume you're talking about the 568mL pint? In the Netherlands we use 220ml glasses, in our faculty's pub it's €0,42 a beer, so that's about £0.89 a pint. Or 30 beer (=12 pints) for €10 (= £8.50)
Outside of the campus, the cheapest I know is about £1.63 a pint.

Yes we are talking about 568ml 'pints'. Only paying that much for a beer is good but out of a 220ml glass, only about 100ml is actually beer, the rest is just the frothy head - and the barman would get laughed at before having it poured over his head here in the UK. :nope:

Why would there be so much foam? If there is, it's a sign that the barman really can't tap at all and shouldn't even be there.
And UK beers aren't really known for their excessive foam either...:hmmm:
