DNS Errors accessing Subsim.com

I've been having a lot of DNS errors both on the main site and on the forums lately. I using WinXP Pro SP3, IE8 and everything is patched up correctly. I'm running AVG antivirus. A lot of times I'll be on one page, go to another using a link and when I use my back button to return I'll get the DNS errors. In the forum, I can see the first page but when I click on a link to read a message (even my own I've posted) I get a DNS error.

Any suggestions or opinions would be appreciated! :D

I've gotten this a couple of times in the past few days as well. Refreshing the page always seems to sort it out for me. No clue what's causing it but since the page always seems to load on the refresh I've assumed it was just some temporary server blip. :hmmm:

So far it's been behaving! I'll knock wood and keep an eye on IE8 for now. :hmmm:

As frau kaleun mention here, I have personally experienced problems with our servers in the form of "hop" temporarily, wait and try later

Not using IE8 but using an email account from the likes of Hotmail, gmail and Yahoo etc. can cause the server to mistrust your login credentials due to previous attacks by spambots.

Thank you, Frau, Vendor and Jimbuna for your suggestions and tips. I'm not having the problem here anymore but I do have my eye on it. If it happens to anyone else perhaps they'll see these posts. :yeah:
