View Full Version : Stock SHIII crashes
got a wery annoying problem whit my SHIII,
as soon as the intro videos a done the game freezes and shuts down :wah:
have tried both Stock vers and GWX, same thing...
got SH4 on too but never had any probs whit it.
im out of ideas now, any one have any?
What happens, charge it or will the CTD directly, :hmmm:
it just shuts down the moment the main menu should pop up, and the system just says unknown error
What is your spec out for PC?, and where have you installed the SH3 partion I mean did you do install in C....
yeas its in C:/
my pc spec are:
Pentium Dual core E5200 @2.50GHz
3Gb RAM
and GeForce 8800 GS 1648mb
never had any problem whit the game before, but just out of the blue the game starts to crash....
Have you recently made a re-install, if so, you need to clean the registry and delete the previous fragments of the SH3 before installing again, spec on your computer is not a problem in this perspective
yep have made several reinstall on clean files but still have the problem, start to wonder if the disc is the prob here?:hmmm:, runs just fine when installing
When you re-install so it should be done with the disc, which I guessed that you have made,Patches and you have the right? you have deleted in my doc, also
yes, thats why i cant figure it out. what the heck is wrong :damn:

I can see where this could be aggravating. Your PC should run SH3 very well so that is ruled out, I would normally recommend a reinstall but since you've already done that I guess it would just waste your time. Try it with commander, i don't know if it will change anything but I have had similar problems but with just GWX3 and for whatever reason installing commander seemed to solve that problem.
Have you updated the drivers for your video card, and what settings have you got there? Since you say that the picture "freezes"
Do you have a widescreen resolution monitor? Try forcing the desktop resolution to 1024x768 and try again.

Since you have a Nvidia (GeForce) card you should have the option to let the driver scale the image up to maximum native resolution. Right-click on the desktop, there should be "Nvidia Control Panel" halve way up the list. Click it. Then in the tree-list on the left under "Display/Adjust desktop size and position". At 2. choose one of the top 3 options for scaling. If that is set then you should be able to set the resolution back to what you had. If you use the setting with fixed aspect ratio then circular objects remain circular instead of ellipses. But there are very few non-widescreen resolutions that do not conform to the 4:3 ratio, or simply look very similar, so it might not be necessary.
