Well, this has never happened before.

After getting banged up a little by a Freetown convoy, I headed to the Corrientes for repairs and a top-up.

After leaving, and we are well underway, I started counting noses.. and I am an officer short. In fact, my 1WO Friedburg is missing.

He didn't get checked out through SH3 Commander (I lost a sailor and gained one), and he is still on the personnel roster. But he ain't here.

I'll make do, but has anyone else had this happen? A bug?

I am in GWX 3, SH3 Commander, July 1941, a IXC

Looks like he has done a runner, did you check the toilet.
I have had this before, open commander and try to promote him, or change his abillities, he should come back, if not report him as awol and have him shot. :)
Dont forget to load the last "in base before patrol" save.

Did you send him to the "Repair" compartment when you got banged up? And leave him there when you ended the patrol? They can get lost that way.

Commander is supposed to find and restore missing officers - did you exit the game and reload it through Commander in between patrols, or just end one patrol and start the next without exiting the game and restarting it via Commander?

I had an officer go missing once - he was the 'extra' guy I'd taken on as an engineering trainee so I'm pretty sure I had assigned him to Repair right off and just left him there. My system crashed during my first session on that patrol so I ended up just going back and reloading the "in base" save from the start of it - when I did, and got into the game again and looked at crew managment, that officer was gone. I finished the patrol and after exiting the game entirely and opening Commander, he was back on my crew list.

I may have had him in Repair, because he had that qualification. But while I was banged up bad topside, I had no flooding or anything to fix down below, so I didn't need to fill out the Rep crew. Could all wait til surfacing later. Possible, though.

Funny thing. I have now rolled back four patrols, to even before getting my IXc, and while I show to have a full wardroom in the "filing cabinet" in the game, and on the roster in SH3 Commander, Friedburg is still missing.

Well, too bad for him. SH3 Commander wants to retire me, and he would have replaced me.

Corrientes there it happens of course strange things,

It is sort of a weird scene down there. I find a stop there either ruins a patrol or turns it around. If the crew doesn't get clap, of course.

The Spaniards like most women, and it sets the scene very much, but your repair man is important, go back and start before you go out on a mission :yep:
