I am very pleased with this watch but darned if I know how to pronounce it, could someone please advise here?:hmmm:

Also I purchased a Trias "AGORA" watch, 35 jewels automatic:
http://www.ecl-uhren.de/ebay/trias/T22035sblackb.jpg

this I am not happy with, the numerals on the face, especially the 4.00 o'clock position, are all over the place, not neatly lined up, also when I got it the winding rotor made a clinking sound when the watch moved in any position, it was hitting the chassis, I paid $25 to have it sent back and they sent a supposed new replacement with exactly the same symptoms as above only a lot worse!!:nope: So:
Beware of Trias watches!

I recently found myself getting into watches...

I bought myself a Victorinox Swiss Army Automatic a couple of months ago and couldn't be happier.

It's got a day/date feature, sapphire crystals (front and exhibition back) and has a VERY nice movement inside (25 jewel automatic ETA 2834-2). I was surprised to get such a nice watch from Swiss Army.

My folks are talking about getting me a much nicer watch when I graduate law school in May. I'm seriously looking, and trying to decide between a Jaeger LeCoultre Master Control, IWC Spitfire Mark XVI or IWC Vintage Ingenieur.

It is pronounced wɒtʃ - UK, wɑːtʃ - US. Oh, you don't mean 'watch'! :haha:

Tauchmeister is pronounced - I think Tow (as in tower), k (hard k as in handkerchief), my-ster.

Means Dive Master in German :D

Thanks for the info guys, I do wonder if in fact the Trias automatic watch should rattle,:hmmm: It's the first automatic I had purchased, is this a common thing?:-? I had sent 3 emails to various divisions of the Trias company and now 5 days later still no response from any of them, very poor PR/support!:nope:

Dunno about the Trias. I got one of these:

It's a solar powered Eco-Drive so no winding or battery farnarkling needed. So far a nice comfortable and easy to read watch.

Anyone here got one of these? (http://www.u-boat.com.au/?gclid=COzgu825mqQCFQK_bwoduAhFFA)

I'm wanting or been wanting an automatic myself . . . .maybe someday. Last I asked they could cost more than a grand and the shopkeeper didn't seem to want to wait on me...she was being rude basically while my sister was buying a new watch battery and have it installed.

I cursed the women for ruining my day. Not only she was a sore to the eyes but apparently a rude person inside too....typical of those low educated know nothing else Chinese women that would fit in perfectly in any of China's open or flea market.:dead:

for some odd reason reading this post reminded me of a part of "The Right Stuff" by Tom Wolfe, he talked in jest about the test pilots wearing civilian clothes, but you could tell they were pilots because of their big, complicated watches

Some nice watches there!:yep:
@ Vendor, the Trias watch is around AU $150, I have now purchased a cheap automatic ($30) and this is quiet, no rattles, and looks good, shames the Trias for sure! The only other possibility is that they both have been damaged during transport, though the packaging was good so I doubt it!:hmmm:

I have that watch in titanium. The stainless steel version was too heavy for me. I was wearing it daily for six years up until I got my automatic. It's a great watch.

I'm afraid it can't be described as the sound for the German ch has no comparison in the English language.
This site can pronounce the name pretty well though:
