Just make sure you install the game, patch, (GWX mod if you want) and SH3Commander (if you want) as an administrator.
Most important is to NOT install the game inside the Program Files folder structure. Give it it's own place somwhere else on your harddrive. Windows 7 protects it from file modifications.

Win7 is a right pain with its file structure. If this doesnt work, you can get SH3 from Steam (which is what I did) and you will have no trouble installing as it goes in Steams own folder.
I understand that the early released versions of SH3 will not run on Win7 but the latter version dose
On the spine of the box it should read ESS632/D

I have an early version, starforced and unpatched, and following the W7 sticky was no problem, I even installed in Program Files and do not have any issues with SH3 and mods except my aiming!
I probably have UAC off which may have something to do with it. :D

Win7 is a right pain with its file structure. If this doesnt work, you can get SH3 from Steam (which is what I did) and you will have no trouble installing as it goes in Steams own folder.
Or buy it of amazon New :yeah: its only 12$ so is not too expensive . nvm it may be cheaper
