Russia's Federal Bodyguard Service registered six domain names combining Putin's name or initials with "2012," according to the official Cyrillic domain database, stat.ref.ru. It did not do the same for President Dmitry Medvedev.

A czar by any other name. Like the Middle East, Russia has no indigenous culture of democratic/republic institutions on which to stand.

We should resign ourselves to this reality and not expect more than that.

He would be more likely to win in Germany than the US. Germany has a history of electing strong leaders who won't give up their position. Parlimentary gov't's are more easily usurped.
