We need a new list of who's attending. I'm getting a rental car but I'm not to keen on driving in Boston. Are we revising anything since we are dropping off like flies:cry:. Any more, and it will be "hang out at August's house.:woot:"
What about the cabins?
Anything else?

I'll be in Long Island with Ivank and we are planning on driving into CT in the afternoon, meeting up with everyone in Waterford. I'm not sure what ado about the cabins...

Only 7 ... mmmh.
When i decided to go for the long trip weeks ago i thought this would be a potentially huge meeting. Especially considering the fact that it takes place in the U.S. and with all the naval attractions in that area. :-?

You'd be hard pressed to find anyone that is happy with it.

You guys start posting pictures of the meet and we'll all be jealous ;)
The stuff you're going to see is very nice, I just wish I had the money - as 2 years ago - to jump the ocean and join.

Wish I had the scratch to go there this year, but also being so new to the forum and not really knowing anyone yet it's better that I held off. Maybe next year. I'd love to meet everyone. :DL

Don't forget Bill. That's worth the trip in itself.
August, Rose
Jason Lobo
Daryl Carpenter
Michael Pohl
Ivank
Sledgehammer
Bas Langenhof
Bill Nichols, Rose
For some reason, attendance for this meet was weak from the beginning. Not sure why. I waited until the last minute to cancel, I would really like to meet August, and see the new guys, & guys from Europe and Jason again. But I have attended all the meetings to date and with two kids in college and no job until recently, I'm not as rich as I used to be.
This meeting may be small, but you still will have a good time, and get a chance to visit the Nautilus, BB Cove, and New London, and do it with friends. 10 or 100, it's still what you make of it.
Some day, I'm going to luck into getting an invitation from the Navy to attend a VIP nuke submarine cruise (already been on two) and get permission to bring 10 attendees. Those who make that Subsim meeting will get a surprise bonus.

Hate to break it to you Neal, but Bill is going to be in Alabama the second half of this week.

I wanted to meet August too, but what's really breaking my heart is that this might have been my last chance to walk the decks of a Gearing again, and my only chance to ever see Constitution.

Same here August plus Chris and those others I've never actually met.
Despite the fact there is probably a great deal more to see than in previous Meets (not meaning there was little or nothing at those) I detected a slight hint about a month ago things weren't quite the same as previous years, especially after reading Neals post casting doubt on his ability to attend.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not being critical of anyone involved in the organisation or running of the event because as I've already stated, this Meet has the makings of the best one yet, certainly for choice and amount of content.
I think I was a little upset at the fact I couldn't find a travelling partner but would like to thank Steve for offering to share with me.
I was gambling on the fact you didn't snore anywhere near as much as TarJak LOL
As is my custom you'll recall I brought t-shirts and U-boat swordfish badges to Texas two year ago.
This year I have purchased some kit from Germany (eternally grateful to H_sie for his assistance and trusting my ability to send Int. money orders) for those very same people.
I'll speak with Neal after the trip and see if the postage isn't too high, failing that they'll just have to keep till the next Meet.
I'm sure you'll all have a great time.
SINK EM ALL!!

I bet it's the thought of making good on that offer of a pint at Houston Airport that's put ya off :O:
I think this is the third subsim meeting I will be missing:
Reasons were: daughter no.1 on the way (meeting London), construction of my new home (meeting Texas) and this year (meeting US east coast) I have moved my business to a new place which has cost me a lot of money, so no money left.
Have fun everyone!

:hmmm:
That could be interesting...
PS: sorry that I could not join, I would have loved to, but two main reasons: not much money left after I have spent a lot of money on my Mexico trip this summer plus some new photo equipment I needed (my camera was broken in Mexico, and I had to buy a new one), but also because I did not find a job this autumn, so in return for recieving the insurance money, I have to attend a job search course by law. If I miss it, they withdraw my right to receive it. So forced to stay at home.
But have fun those of you attending this meet. I'm sure it will be nice even though the number of attendees is low. Looking forward to see your photos.
