Not my words ;)
Using Facebook is the online equivalent of staring at yourself in the mirror, according to a study.
Those who spent more time updating their profile on the social networking site were more likely to be narcissists, said researchers.

Hey now, that's not the only use of facebook. Not to defend them too much, but you can perfectly well treat it as a personalized news service for you and not bother with those profile updates. That's my use of it, really.

When I set up my account I went through and updated all my profile, but now I only change things when I find a funny quote and want to add it. I treat it like any other forum account, except I don't have a funny nickname and these people know me in real life. (so maybe a little more carefully than any other forum account)

A year and a half ago I was on Facebook for about three weeks. I came to the same conclusion as the study, without the science, and cancelled. I am here now! lol
are facebook, is great to keep yourself updated around the clock, who is dating whom, and check your friends, etc.but there's some other sites for young people, the article shows in fact a life-style.

You can always rely on the Daily Mail for an impartial look at society.
stopped using facebook about a week ago, all the friends i had there were always bragging they were going to parties, and having a fun time when i was sitting at the computer all the time doing nothing.
I feel better now that i dont have to feel jealous because they are having fun and i dont.

Facebook always struck me as silly.
However, I swear I'm the only person in my age group who does not have one.

I think you're better off with Facebook, you wouldn't want to break a perfectly good mirror after all ;)
