Ok, so i just finished my set mission objective (landing a few specops troops) and i decide to do some harbor hunting. i set course from Luzon (straight across and a little up from Manila.) to Melekeok. i get about 50 miles from shore and Bam. everything freezes and i CTD. i retried a couple times but its all the same.
anyone know about this CTD?

im Using RFB 2.0.

RFB has the subchaser set to unit type 1.

The stock unit is unit type 0.

RFB and the stock campaign are therefore incompatible. Run RSRDC.

Quick fix assuming you are NOT trunning RSRDC. Disable the RFB patch mod. Go into the mods folder, then the RFB patch (Ap[ril 2010, whatever it is called). Navigate to Sea/NSC_SubChaser and open NSC_SubChaser.cfg with a text editor.

Replace:
UnitType=1

with:

UnitType=0

Save, then reenable the patch. Try again.

Yes, because you must use RSRDC.

Else, fix that cfg (base rfb, patch, whatever)

Run Silent, Run Deep Campaign.

The stock campaign (which RFB doesn't touch) is abysmal. This doesn't come up much because I'd think anyone that cares enough to run a realism mod would want the campaign to be, say, remotely like WW2 in the Pacific (the stock campaign doesn't meet this requirement :) ).
