I searched and found very little information on it.. (I might not be good at searching)

I just saw a great story from Netflix about the U-166 in operation Drumbeat and was wondering if GWX has this in it?

Right now I am still in my VIIC, and its 1943 (late) so when I restart a campaign I will take a IXC and hope to be part of Operation Drumbeat.. Is it scripted into this game?

THANKS ALL!

What curious timing. My first campaign is still slowly progressing and in less than a month (game time), America will be at war with the Axis. Those tankers they keep sending are so tempting!!! I was getting tired of long patrols, and switched from my Type IXB to a Type VIIC for something different. One thing that I had to contend with was the upcoming Operation Drumbeat. I'll just have to raid the American coast once I get a Type XXI, later in the war.

No idea if it is modeled in GWX, but given that events such as the final voyage of the Bismarck is said to be modeled, I wouldn't doubt it.

I'm sure that one of the additional single missions with GWX is one called Drumbeat - I'd imagine that it replicates the Op to some extent, but I don't know if it is in campaign mode.

If you're after more info, there is a book of the same title by Michael Gannon, just search Amazon using the link at the top right of the page :D

And it is well worth reading. It's partly an overview of Operation Drumbeat, and partly the story of one particular u-boat that took part in it: U-123, commanded by Reinhard Hardegen, who survived the war and provided Gannon with a wealth of first-hand info and recollections.

It seems to be modelled into GWX. I have received several messages to U-boats participating in Paukenschlag, and they are not "immersion" messages as I have the "lite" package installed to eliminate the ear candy that is irrelevant to my game situation. I'm currently in a VIIC but next time I start a new career in late 41 I will try to get a IX.

Correct....GWX does in fact have Drumbeat elements scripted into it http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/pirate.gif
