Hi everybody, Id like to start off by saying Im new here and have been really interested in SH5 lately. Even with what seems to be tons of bugs the mods seem to help work out kinks. Second, I didnt really know where to put this post so please dont flame if i put it in the wrong area thanks :ping:
But first question is about Enigma Rising Tide, I had it on my older computer and it worked fine, then we got a new one with windows 7. I installed it and every time I try to run the game, it always comes up with a screen saying I need to reboot for the install drivers to set in or whatever, my question is does it not work on windows 7? Id really like a sub game to play since its the only one I have.
And Secondly, to run SH5 smoothly, Im guessing you need one beast of a computer, because the graphics I have seen look extremely impressive, what would be minimum requirements for a smoothly run game? I can post up the computer specs im running on right now if need be.
Thank you all for any help :)

Put your specs here sh5 players will be able to tell you whether she'll run the game or die trying.
Can't help ya with Enigma and windows 7, I would of thought she would run fine on 7 the game had issues with Vista owners.
You might find help here. Enigma Rising tide gold edition is free now as well.

Thats what I was thinking as well but Idk. like I said, I can run Flight Simulator X on all medium to medium high settings with very minor framerate issues and only sometimes does that happen. as far as I know, next to Crysis, Flight Simulator X is the most graphics intensive computer game I know of.
However, Im sure I could get a beefed up computer for dirt cheap, I know a guy that could build me one that could run anything smooth except for Crysis(which he said was the most intensive game as far as CPU and graphics and etc.) for around 600$
Which brings me to another point. Computer companys have to be ripping us off big time. because you pay twice that for some computers for half the quality, its a conspiracy :arrgh!:

About Enigma: it's not installed in "program files" is it? If UAC is enabled, that could certainly keep it from working properly.
I wouldn't venture towards SH5 with on-board graphics. It might work well enough if you have a decent enough chip, but most fall far short.

Yeah, administrator mode should do the trick if it's in program files and UAC is active.

No I was asking what the UAC is lol
and I just tried administrator mode and its not workin :(
And its in the program files(x86) folder, for some reason almost all installs go to that folder.. ugh I hate microsoft some times.

Well, it's the person that makes the installer that decides on default install directory. User Account Control isn't nescesarily a bad thing, though it is a giant pita for people who don't know exactly what it is or how it works.
Long story short; UAC is the thingy that constantly asks "are you sure?" when you start a program. There's also a "permission" system and software in the "program files" folder is on a tighter leash. Running something with administrator priviledges should get around it, but it is generally advised to install games to a different folder.
I'm guessing it worked fine on XP? Some things you can try:
1. run the setup in a compatibility mode:
Right-click on the .exe for the setup and select "properties".
Select "compatibility" tab.
Mark the box under "compatibility mode" and in the drop-box select "Windows XP"
(Maybe tick "run this program as an administrator" as well)
Run the setup.
2. run the game in compatibility mode
Same as above, but with the game's .exe (probably something like "Enigma.exe"). Alternatively you can use the shortcut if the installer creates one.
May want to tick "disable desktop compostion" as well; it disables Aero for as long as the game runs. Aero often interferes with older games.
3. turn off UAC
On control panel, select "user accounts".
Select "change User Account Control settings".
Move the slider down to "never notify" and select OK.
edit: and of course install outside program files, see if that helps.
