Last night I had a very fortunate string of luck. I attacked a convoy, firing two eels each at two ships. Two hit one ship, but the other two missed their target and sailed on toward the other side of the convoy. Incredibly, one hit and sunk a freighter a couple of columns over and the other one sailed right out of the convoy and sank a corvette on the perimeter of the convoy. I've had one missed eel hit, but never two! What luck that was!

Feel free to share your good luck stories.

About the big ships. . HMS Hood and HMS Nelson sailing without escorts.
I was lucky since they were coming right at me. And well what would a real Kaleun do? He wouldn't miss... unlike me. I thought the Hood is more important and shot a salvo of 3 torpedoes at it. The sea was calm and the weather clear but they all missed... until Nelson sailed right behind Hood and took all of them near the engine compartments! :smug: It came to a complete halt and pitched to the left side quite heavily. I tried firing my torp at hood again but it evaded :damn: Well since it was sailing at 28knots I didn't chase it and just waited for Nelson to sink... which it didn't. After wasting about 4 torpedoes as duds premature's and other failures I finally sunk it and only got 2 eels left. That was my only encounter with the big ships and I'm happy it all went as good as it did :D
Ill quote myself from another thread.

I scored I lucky hit on an Escort. My "Homing" eel locked on to me and an escort dropped DCs then BOOM torpedo impact. The eel swiched target hit the escort but I was too close so I had heavy flooding and later sunk too.

:nope:
