I stick mine in the forward torpedo room till it bothers me seeing the "red" guy and I return to base.
We need a burial at sea key.
What do you folks do?

You can bury them at sea, just double click on the crew member however if we are near home base I keep the bodies.

Or man the flak with a dead body - it makes the game to man the conning tower. Now drag and drop a crew man over the dead flak man to switch the two. You'll have a crowded conning tower now as all positions stay manned.

Jim will show us a screenshot as soon as possible. :DL

Or man the control room with a dead crew body and see an empty station in 3D.

You learn something every day. I've had the game since 05 and never knew that. I rarely have any crew die by themselves anyway. It is usually all of us together.

No one ever dies with me at the helm.

I some times bury them at sea but if I get lazy I stuff them in what available space I have and bring them home for a proper burial.

P.S. I think a mod where when you bury a dead crew man you see a funeral service on the aft deck of the sub.

I don't get dead crewmen very often, but when I do it's usually the whole crew.

Same here.:yep: I really can't remember the last time I had a lone crewman get killed. It is usually all or none.

All the years and I never knew we could bury at sea. Thanks!:salute:
I usually lose a man at the guns if caught on the surface by aircraft.
Other times we all go to the bottom.:nope:

this game never ceases to amaze me, add me to the list of "a never knew that" people.
I have only had all or nothing in terms of crew deaths, worst I have had on a surviving patrol, is one man wounded, who later recovered.

Leads me to ask....
What your worst losses (dead/wounded) on a surviving patrol???

I lost my watch officer during a battle with a destroyer then I decimated a convoy as a sort of revenge type thing.

I'm surprised none of you knew that. I discovered that when I first got the game....man those first patrols were rough...

Also suprised that not many of you lose crew. I've lost about 8 crew in 14 patrols, which is not too bad, except it always seems to be the radio operators.....

Anyone else have that problem when being depth charged? Radio and Sonar Operators being the first to die?

I remember one patrol I lost both radio and sonar in a depth charge run, replaced them with regular seaman, the compartment was still flooding but the repair crews were working on it. The Destroyer came around for another run and killed both replacement operators. No one else on the ship killed or injured except 4 sonar/radio operators. I think that patrol ended with the sub being sunk, but still, it was weird.

I've not experienced the radio/sonar guys dying more than others...
Maybe it is because it is such a small station and always is 100% manned, if the game decides the station is hit, it has to be those guys that are hit, no blank spots. hmmm, a long way of saying I don't know.

Now then, I wonder what happens if you are personally operating the hydrophone when the hydrophone man dies???
Do you die?
Does it kick you out of listening to the hydrophone until you re-man it?
Or can you the captain carry on operating the hydrophone anyway??
