Although this is my first post, I am not new to this forum. I have silently been hunting this board for answers ever since I got Silent Hunter III way back and you guys have always provided. Thanks! :)

I have yet to get this game though. Everytime I see a screenshot or video of this game I want to surface and grab it. But then I remember the walls of bugs and glitches and I submerge back into uncertainty and doubt.

When in doubt, YouTube is your friend. A well commented "Let's Play "insert game here"" video can answer a thousand questions. Unfortunately I was only able to find one, and it was in German. Although I prefer my crew in SHIII to speak German, I was not able to follow the comments properly so it was all kind of lost on me.

So I am wondering if anybody knows of any commented videos (preferably in English or atleast subtitled) that take you on a mission/patrol from start to finish - explaining the game concepts, features and cursing at the broken stuff. Perhaps somebody here is planning on doing one or... have secretly been wanting to? Well, I for one would enjoy it. Please feel free to brake radio silence.

The problem I've found with making films of Sh5 is that you need a pretty good machine to run the game (mine just scrapes through) however to use FRAPS you need and awesome machine because FRAPS slows the game down whilst it's on.

Now for most of my games that's not too much of an issue, but for SH5...well it becomes a slideshow.

That said I wish you all the best and hope that there is someone out there with a machine capable of doing what you've asked for:salute:

First, welcome. Secondly, I am sure there is someone here willing to do it. Might I suggest changing your thread title to something along the lines of 'Wanted: Let's Play SH5 videographer'? That should give you a much better chance at attracting the right sort of people.

Thank you. And yes, I guess you are right, it takes abit of firepower to run FRAPS and SH5 :hmmm:

do a search for Taksi Desktop Video Recorder. It's free, it's good, and much better than FRAPS :yep:
