Defamation is more than just words, so yes they can hurt you. What I am interested in here is the consequences that may face the lawyers and the judge. It's obvious where the lawyers went wrong, but did the judge review the case at all? Or did he simply make his decision based off of the fact that the non-offending offending party didn't show up?

nope, they only won because the other side never replied to the suit, which is because they werent served so they start over without the typo and properly serve the right party in question. it doesnt mean she convinced the judge she was right.

she might get her lawyers commisions reduced IF she wins but suing a lawyer is hard to do, they have a license to be stupid it seams and are rarely held accountable for mistakes unless you prove they did it on purpose.
