Blimey, eighty. Hard to think really ain't it?
Happy Birthday :salute:
Jesus, 80? There's one actor who's passing will be mourned. Hope there's still many many many years ahead for him. :salute:

He's retired from doing films a few years back. George Lucas was going to try to bring him back for the last Indiana Jones film, but realized he wouldn't want to come out of retirement (and star in a stinker of a film)

I saw Darby O'Gill and the Little People in the theater. I guess I've been a fan for awhile.

Opinion is a wonderful thing.

Holy crap! Okay, which one of you is Sean?
Kidding. Happy birthday anyway.

2, eh ! :stare: http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a75/Panzer_Kamerad/smileys/whip.gif
(The second one being my favourite american actor, Clint Eastwood http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a75/Panzer_Kamerad/smileys/guns.gif, who's 80 years old too.)
Anyway, happy birthday to Sean Connery. :yep: :|\\ :yeah: :arrgh!:

He's still going?
Talk about one of the most over rated actors ever.
Also talk about a part time Scot. Poster boy for the SNP but does he live here? No...has to pay taxes otherwise.
Sure there are plenty others who do it but he harps on about independence for Scotland but has no intention of living here.
rant over.

I wondered when someone would bring that up :haha:
Still, I can't help but like his films. :salute:

I don't mind his films but you have to remind yourself you are watching Sean in a movie, not Sean playing a role.
Though syaing that I do envy him for getting very intimate with Catherine Zeta Jones in Entrapment.
Hunt for Red October is one of my favorite Sean Connery movies, I don't care what you think :cool:

I don't think there is anything particularly wrong in hitting a woman, though I don't recommend you do it the same way that you hit a man. - Sean Connery
That can be taken several ways, and some of them are not so good. :nope:

The only context in which I think it's at all acceptable is one of self-defense. In that context I have no problem with anyone doing what is necessary to defend themselves. Given that, statistically speaking, a man defending himself against (unarmed) assault by a woman is likely to have a physical advantage anyway, so a different response might be more appropriate than what would be necessary against an attacker of similar or greater size and strength.
But, considering that much of the violence directed at women has nothing to do with actual physical self defense, but with intimidation, coercion, and control, it's a hugely unfortunate statement for any man to make.
I will say though that one of the things I sort of liked about the Bond films was the way female villains were usually treated about the same as the male ones (aside from Bond bedding them if he had the chance). Were the movies sexist? Lord, yes. But if a woman turned out to be a villain and posed a viable threat, seemed like he'd take her out with the same lack of compunction as he would a man. Or maybe I'm just remembering it that way.

I guess you are not too kinky. :D There are "other" consensual contexts where this works out well. :D:D

I don't agree with a man hitting a women at any time.
Personally I use a tazer to defend myself against my Mrs.
