Howdy! *new guy*

New to the site. I played SH3 for a few years after it came out, and recently found out about the GWX 3 mod, so I reinstalled it and modded it. Every time I googled a question related to GWX or SH3, it inevitably brought me back to this site, so it seemed like a good place to hang a hat with like-minded individuals so I can pick up on nuances and finer details of sub simming.

It's nice to play SH3 again, and the GWX mods are great. I've been mired in my flight sims lately, so this is a nice thing to pick up again to break the monotony!

You're right. This is the ultimate sub sim forum, one and only.

Now don't go and do as I did. I was so caught up in new mods that I never finished a patrol or career. I kept finding new mods and restarted. It was like an addiction!

I have settled down now with a life-time goal. I intend to finish a career in SH3, SH4, and SH5 before I die.

LOL I just installed the SH3 Commander and that huge fleet pack, and I'm still looking to see if there are any graphical enhancement packs for water, sky, etc. just to make the game look a bit better (I've seen some screenshots that looked better than what mine looks like, but now I'm wondering if it was for SH4 or 5).

I know what you mean by the modding addiction completely. I've had that sickness with Oblivion, GTR2, Fallout 3, Flight Simulator X and others. I've had to buy new/larger hard drives because of it. :oops:

Will probably jump into a career in the next couple of days and won't look back until I've finished it.
