I cant even imagine trying to deal with being stuck underground for months. But I suppose it is better than the alternative...
COPIAPO, Chile – For 33 men found alive after 17 days trapped deep in a copper and gold mine, the toughest challenge now may be preserving their sanity during the months it may take to carve a tunnel big enough for them to get out.

Do not envy their position at all. Hopefully the teams up top can get to them in time.

Wow. That's very moving story.
But they are not out of trouble, yet...

Well as it says they can get to them, they can communicate with them, they can send food and water to them, not sure what they are going to do about hygene.
There was no mention as to the size of the 'saftey zone' they are cramped into.
Again they can get to them but evidently it will take months to do so.
can do it, even if it takes time.....
Ey ey ey.
Come the end, I think they'd qualify for the mission to mars program

The psychological stresses alone of been cooped up in such a small space must be huge.
Clearly the Dwarf Fortress (http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/) of real life. Don't worry, all they have to do and shoot a breeding pair of cats into there and in a couple days there will be a catsplosion that will keep them well fed for years.

I am glad they were able to make it to the shelter. Evidently they are in a pretty good position, but still .... four months.
I wonder if they will get paid overtime for this? For someone trapped in a mine, I think the clock never stops until they are rescued. :yeah:
That is the least the company can do for them. :yep:

Despite wishing these men all the best, and truly feeling pain for their condition, I still have a sick desire to send them a portable video player, plenty of batteries, and "The Descent" and "The Descent 2":-?
I think I may be a bad person.

The was two miners trapped in a mine here in Australia a couple of years back. They had a hard enough time spending two weeks down in the mine.

very similar to the situation of a crew in a sunk submarine at the bottom of the sea :-?

I remember seeing that on the News here, once rescued they refused to see their wives until they could take a shower, hell don't blame them they must of smelt pretty bad.

4 months that's tough :-?.
As long as they are kept in supply of food and water they should be fine...hopefully

Yes. Yes you are :p2:
Hopefully they can keep sane until the rescuers break through.
