Is it any wonder we find it hard to talk with this guy... I mean talk about an in appropriate name :nope:

Anyhow Iran unviels a new 'unmanned bomber'.



TEHRAN, Iran — Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Sunday inaugurated the country's first domestically-built, long-range, unmanned bomber aircraft, calling it an "ambassador of death" to Iran's enemies.

The goal of the aircraft is to "keep the enemy paralyzed in its bases," he said, adding that the jet is for deterrence and defensive purposes.
Wonder how that will work out for them in practice :hmmm:

Moreover, wouldn't the enemy be likely to move out of their bases so as not to present a static target?

iran would do itself no end off good if it were to drop the raging nutcase attitude and rhetoric. But I suppose that's the hallmark of a regime that must behave so or loose it's dominance - so it's less to do with the rest of the world, and all about domestic politics.

Hehe, who do they have to fight now iraq is a smoking ruin with no clear government? Saudi arabia? Kuwait? Yemen? UAE? Israel? Bahrain? Pakistan? WHO then?

It's nice that they can spend money on new and expensive technology on the one hand, whilst practising a barbarous medieval justice system, the likes of which most of the rest of the world left behind in the fifteenth century. But that's a whole lot of progress to choke on all at once :O:

Farsi is a language that is known for its colourful, flowery, and symbolic terms

What you are reading is a translation that may be heavily biased to put the translation in the worst possible way.

Better to err on the side of caution until a definitive conclusion is arrived at.

Personally speaking, I don't trust the buggas because one of the potential outcomes is too serious to contemplate/gamble on.

deputy of death - the onomatopoeia of this (and 'diplomat' too) tickle me.

Yet 'plenipotentiary of death' is so deliciously pompous a title, that we ought to assign more weapons of destruction with such artfully ridiculous appointments. :DL

Actually Lcpl Iranian government personnel have been targeted in Suicide Attacks before. A Sunni group sent two bombers out and blew up a Mosque in Zahedan targeting several IRGC officers that were there to commemorate the birthday of an Imam.

not could be better fill the thing with explossives and launch it to the target ?? Might allow for a quicker swap out of different payloads. The UAV looks sufficiently large for a small ASM like a Kedge or a rocket pod, a dispenser could also be fitted for cluster munitions or CBR weapons.
