I,ve been having considerable difficulties with my file storage on FF recently but most of those problems are behind me now.

There are however 8 files still being a bit problematic.

Could a few of you nice kind people d/l the following files, save them to desktop and post a screenshot of what the files look like please?

http://www.filefront.com/12774688/GWX3.exe (http://www.filefront.com/12774688/GWX3.exe)

http://www.filefront.com/9255161/GWX2.exe (http://www.filefront.com/9255161/GWX2.exe)

http://www.filefront.com/12815500/GWX3_CFG_for_SH3Commanders.exe (http://www.filefront.com/12815500/GWX3_CFG_for_SH3Commanders.exe)

This pdf file will not download more than 1/3 of its content:

http://www.filefront.com/14272989/Manual_V3.0_Final_without-background.pdf/ (http://www.filefront.com/14272989/Manual_V3.0_Final_without-background.pdf/)

I would be grateful if the above file is tested as well.

TIA
Jimbuna

I couldn't get any of them to open. File Type just says 'File'.

How are they compressed?

The PDF works fine, but the other files are just a few hundred kb each.

7zip as is most of my stuff.

Great picture Schroder but could you d/l all three alongside each other (they are all small sizes) and post a screenie without the file label please?

This is what I'm experiencing....they are d/l without the '.exe' extention and are therefore non-executable unless I choose the rename file option and add the '.exe' to the end which then changes the file icon to a paw print as in your picture.

FF Tech Support are insistent that they are coming down with the '.exe' extention and there are plenty of d/l numbers which would suggest they may be correct or surely people would have contacted me raising concerns....surely? :hmmm:

I'm hoping the problem is only on my pc.

Did you say the pdf works fine?

A picture of that as well but including the file size would also be appreciated.

And here I thought I was the smart guy by putting the mouse over it to show all the details.:O:

So on my end they are coming with the .exe ending.

The PDF is loading directly in my browser. When I save it to desktop it has the name 2FA3A9ADd01.pdf and has a size of 29.4 MB.
(The name might be a thing that my browser or PDF reader does... I'm often getting PDFs with totally random names like that:roll:)

Just tested the PDF and it downloaded fine, full 24.9mb and 644 pages.

I still have the master copy with the background removed if you think it might help but as far as I can tell, no issues with that link.

Excellent....the only way I can get the paw print is if I manually type in the '.exe' extension.

I've cleared browser cache, ran regvac and cc etc. to no avail so it is obviously a problem at my end.

I'll try similar tests when I've got all my programmes moved to my new system.

many thanks for the help mate...your a star http://www.psionguild.org/forums/images/smilies/wolfsmilies/thumbsup.gif

Cheers Dan....I still have YOUR original file so it's obviously old bessie at this end, probably gasping her last breath :DL

I suspected it might be because d/l numbers remain healthy and FF Techs have been brand new in they're efforts at giving assistance.

I wish I had NOD for 64bit but I'm hearing it's not yet fully functional/reliable :DL

That's what I experienced as well. Thanks for the hint.

The files are only 845kb, 891kb and 467kb respectively. Is that what they should be?

Your welcome Steve....remember, NONE OF US IS AS CLEVER AS ALL OF US :DL

The Commander exe should be 476kb....possibly a typo by your good self :03:
