Weird patrol.

I was steaming off the Carolines when I spied an IJN submarine cruising on the service, oblivious.

This was the very first submarine that I had ever seen not anchored or lashed to a wharf, so I immediately sent over two love darts to win her heart.
The first ran true, but too deep, and it passed harmlessly beneath her. The second, however, exploded aft, near her rudder and screws. All stop. "She's going down, sir!"

Only she wasn't going anywhere. She just sat there. Ignoring me.
So I surfaced, manned the deck gun and put one into her side. Nothing. No reaction. She hates me.

In reality, SH4 had declared her sunk. Only she wasn't. Not to me. Not yet.

So what's a proper skipper to do?
BOARD HER!!!:arrgh!:

Nice SS's.

Doe's take some doing to get them to sink. I once ran into a midget sub making good speed and sunk it, but it just sit there at scope depth going no where. I tried several times to lift it out of the water and get it balanced on my deck to take it home, but just could never find a balancing point.

There are things out there, just beyond the horizon, that few have seen and fewer still could explain.

Not an I-Boat it's a Uboat. It the 9D2 hull by the looks of it, probably just converted for a target.

Just for information the Balao, I think the biggest Fleet Boat in WWII (correct me if I am wrong) was 311 ft long

I-Boats
J class 320
A class 372
B 356
c 356
D was a small one 241 ft, it was used for supplies and troops, were not allowed carry torps.
Sen Toku 400 ft.

So most of the I-Boats were definately not small.
