Auto company Dodge recently found itself in PETA's crosshairs after the carmaker aired a commercial starring a monkey dressed up like Evel Knievel. But, unlike many who draw the ire of PETA, Dodge fought back in an amusing way. :D:up::D

How do we know it didn't happen....invisibility isn't only skin deep, is it?

I'd have liked to see the PETA office..........:woot:

I know. I think that is the point actually. Certain groups, in order to remain relevant must always interject themselves in the most unsatisfactory way. But still very funny!!!

PETA doesn't have any really seriously evil practices to combat these days. Now, if GM had instead used a blind monkey with a sonar taped to its head...

Lol, Peta must not have much to do, as krashkart said.

If the monkey jumped a bike over the cars, they might have something to whine about. On the other hand, if the monkey was that good, maybe not.

On the other other hand:

"Does your meenkey have a laysance?"

The more PETA question is how dare you not ask for a licsence for your monkey. We will control your personal behavior!

Oh, there's always enough animal tortre and abuse, it's just that some pencil scratching PR bored-to-death bureaucrats want to take on some big guys, just for publicity

remember, NO publicity is BAD publicity

it will take a lot more than this to garner my confidence in an American car.

+1.

And I'm all for humane treatment of animals. But CGI monkeys can be shot out of cannons for all I care. (hear that, Dodge? It's your next commercial calling.)

What your not going to run out and buy a volt and save the planet ?? :haha:

Oh wait its built from parts out of china and mexico so I guess technically its not an 'american' car.

I am actually considering a Chevy Volt. I have to confess, I would have a lot more confidence in the Volt, it it were a Toyota/Honda Volt. But I plan in giving the Chevy Volt a good honest evaluation. I like the technology and until Peugeot decides to market in the US again, the Volt may be the best technical solution in 2011.

We have had two fords in our family. A mustang and a focus. Nothing but problems. I guess it is a crap shoot whether you get a good one or a bad one. For me, it is a game of the odds. What are the odds of my getting a lemon American car vs. the odds of getting a lemon foreign (Japan/Europe) car.

Economically, I simply can't justify taking such a chance on an American car these days. I know a lot of people who have gotten lucky with American cars, but I also know more that have been unlucky.

But hey, that's why there is a car market, so each can buy from who they feel comfortable with. :yeah:

Never had a problem with my old Ford that couldn't be fixed... although fixing that beast didn't involve replacing electronics. :hmmm:

those PETA weenies did the same thing with the "trunk monkey" alarm system in 2006 and made them stop the funny commercials

Anyone whom has owned a Ford Ranger Truck should understand why Ford is looked upon with skepticisim.
