Will any Bearz fanz show up this year?
Will Takeda survive w/o McNabb?
Can the Lions...no, next question
Jebus, get the cheezheadz outta here already!

I think Big Ben will miss the first 4 games then take the Steelers to the Playoffs

Will any Bearz fanz show up this year?

I have a feeling Bort will put in an appearance.

Will Takeda survive w/o McNabb?

What the Eagles have Vick and Kolb now. I see the Eagles kicking alot of field goals

Can the Lions...no, next question

Hold on......San Diego has a football team?

Oh yeah. In fact, they even had Drew Brees as their quarterback for awhile. But then they decided Phillip Rivers was better and let Brees go. This is the same Rivers they traded Eli Manning away for. That's two eventual Super Bowl winning QB's they had but let go. Hiring the mentally handicapped is a nice thing to do, but this shows why you should never put them in positions of authority. :har:

But I shouldn't be too hard on S.D. After all, as a Saints fan, we came out real good on that Brees deal. :D

Really, it's going to be fun to see Brad wreck another SB run with a wild pass. That's if he survives to the postseason--every team will be taking the Saints lead and putting everything on knocking him out. Can't say I feel sorry for the guy, he brought this on himself.

During the Saints pre-season game last night, the broadcast team made their picks for the Super Bowl. One of them was very high on the Ravens, and thought they would make it.

Lots of talk about Roethisberger and what a loss it is for the first four weeks for Pittsburgh. I think he's a sloppy player who's success is in large part due to the fact that he has spent his entire career surrounded by A-list talent. Put him in a perpetually mediocre enviroment like Carolina, Washington or the NY Jets and that would be very evident.

For those who doubt the Machiavellian nature of Belichick:

The Patriots will sign former Jets WR/RB Danny Woodhead, I’m told by a league source.

But way more interesting is that Woodhead was cut last week by the Jets to make room for David Clowney. It’s safe to say he knows everything the Jets are doing. Think he may mention it to the Patriots coaches?

Now I see Mookie. Boldin is great for your team. He is already a fan favorite here in Baltimore. Me and my youngest daughter went to the home opener. We got to watched Boldin catch the three touchdowns of the day. We sit at that end zone. Last week he was double teamed at the Steelers and not very productive. Of course that is what the Steelers where hoping for. So yeah, he can really make or break your fantasy team.

Brett Favre is a lot like Luciano Pavarotti. In football and opera, each was the best in the business in their day. Each of them were also their own biggest fans. Like Pavarotti, who when no longer having the stamina to perform for three hours recorded countless crappy duet albums in an effort to cling to the spotlight, Favre now bounces from team to team in an effort to cling to the highlight reel.

I agree that there is zero chance of him sitting out. Brett Favre is incapable of benching Brett Favre, especially when he should.

Admittedly I have not been following the Favre saga as closely as others have, but I was under the impression that he came out of retirement each time before there were any offers. If that were the case, I'd say that it was not about money. If it were not the case, I would say that you were right.

I don't think it's so much the money, though that certainly has to be a major factor, but rather the fact that teams still want him to play for them. As long as teams want his services there is no real reason, at least that I can see, for him to walk away from the game.

But that drama is both created and kept going by others. Take this year for example. When asked if he'd play he replied that it depended on whether he would be healthy enough. Instantly the media begins the "is he in or is he out" game to generate controversy.

Bottom line is he'll play for as long as teams are willing to pay him to play.

It goes both ways as far as the drama.

The media makes the mistake and takes the bait. That is what he wants them to do because he likes the attention. He can't help himself, take for example the tendinitis thing this week. Why does he even bother saying this when we all know he would never take himself out of the game. He is a drama queen :yep:

Favre made this team sport about the individual (himself). And now look at him. The hero is the pariah justifiably so.

Ultimately, long after Favre is but a tainted memory the Packers are likely to be playing competitve football, largely due to the installment of his very talented successor, Aaron Rodgers. Any sour grapes here is more along the lines that the legacy of Brett Favre is far more complimentary than the person, and that's just too damned sad.

Heh, just watch late night talk shows like Leno and national news broadcasts. Vikings fans are sick of him. People see him as sleezy and somewhat lazy, what with his holding out on his "retirement" announcements in order to avoid training camp. He's hardly considered a team guy.

I'm not just flying off the handle here assuming that my world is the whole world when it comes to Favre. A couple of friends I have in Minnesota think that if they lose this Sunday against Dallas, that'll be when Favre's tendonitis injury becomes "too much" for him to continue playing, and the looming threat of a suspension possibly ending his starting streak may move him in that direction.

Besides, plenty of teams pay good money for pariahs (like Vick, Owens, etc.) Barry Bonds comes to mind. :O:

Don't get me wrong, though - I still like what Favre did for the Packers and football. I even have framed posters of the guy hanging in my "man cave". I just think the guy has tarnished his legacy beyond repair at this point.

Wild game August! I would say though that the Pats could have had it in the bag by the end of the first half. Brady did not seem with it. Low passes one to many that I counted. After the half he came out and played like a super bowl QB should. We had plenty of opportunies to score but didn't. So my beloved Vikings got robbed last night by poor officiating and our idiotic head coach who doesn't know how to challenge when he should. Other than that both teams played dynamic and explosive games and either sides fan's should be proud!

It could be worse I could be a Bronco's fan:O:

I'm going to call it for Dallas as no team with that much offensive talent can stay in the gutter for long. Again a great matchup, will Dallas be held for another loss?Heh, I loved hearing them whine about that TD that was overturned, but completely ignore that they got 15 yards that drive by a CLEARLY bad late hit call. (Even though that, despite what the commentators claimed, they ref was actually right to overturn the touchdown.)

But as you said it was a helluva game!

Freiwillige
10-25-10, 11:43 PM
Yea I can admit that was a bad late hit call. I mean I love my Vikings but i'm not a blind fan boy and that late hit call was B.S.

But that touchdown was exactly that as he clearly had control to the ground.
As where the Packers did not, But that's chilly's fault for not challenging it.

My GF is from Greenbay so I'm a closet cheese head in that I do root for em when they aren't playing my Vikes! Now one thing that did kind of get to me is Favre getting booed after the game. I can understand when he came on the field but after the game was a little tasteless in my opinion giving the struggle he gave it was a great effort but a redeemer was the way the Greenbay team treated him after the game. Respectful since it was his last time in Lambo Field most likely. Favre has two fractures in his ankle so he may not be back in the next game against the Patriots. The guy is an Iron Man! I think Packers fans have a great successor in Roger's though.

Now onto tonight's match up. The Cowboy's looked alive coming into this one only to have Romo taken out with a broken clavicle in the second. From that moment forward I knew that the Cowboy's were going to be 1-5.

They had a good Rally in the fourth but the odds were heavily stacked and some creative plays got them closer but it was too far gone, abandon ship women and children first!

They are saying that 6-8 weeks best scenario for Romo's return which equals Cowboy's 2011 season R.I.P. Not that it isnt dead already it just needed to be buried. A shame for a team that has so much talent I think this will be the season known as the What the hell??????? Because their standing's and there playing dont make sense as if 2+2=7 It doesn't add up.

Human error has always been a part of the game. Yes it does suck when you are on the opposing end of it. All teams at some point in time get burned by this, but there are also moments when they benefit from it.

In the end it all balances out. Anyway in it was Favray's continued ambition to gun-sling that cost them the game.

Yeah they mentioned that in the article:

Because he's viewed as a short-term rental, not a long-term investment, Moss was bypassed by teams with first dibs on him. The belief: There's no upside in bringing Moss to a rebuilding project. Moss had every right in my opinion to act like an ass when all week he had said hey guys I know how they are gonna play and I know what they are going to do this game is a win and childress ignored him. That's why he heaped so much praise on bellacheck because he knows that unlike Childress he would listen and plan accordingly in that situation.
