I do hope you enjoy the higher taxes you pay to house this dangerous criminal (and others like him) for the next half-century plus!!!

Does Texas still have the 'tax free day'?

We have several.:shucks:

As for the OP, I agree with Reason's take on the matter. This is silly. Worse, it's counterproductive. I haven't looked yet today, but I'm sure somebody has a thread about Mexico looking at legalization because the Drug War is so destructive and ineffective.

i say - hell... give him 3 life sentences on grounds of general stupidity.
Id rather pay the tax in Texas for this one man's life in prison than have to pay Federal Tax for the life of 100 million men on the street :yep:

I am a little confused.
This guy had BOTH MJ and Hashish is that correct?
Even if the MJ was for medical purposes and obtained legally in CA, that does not excuse the Hashish (which to my understanding is NOT prescribed for medical purposes).
Does not sound like an innocent victim to me. And then there is the notebook/cell phone evidence.
Clearly the article was written from the viewpoint of being against the Texas drug laws. However, Texas drug laws are Texas Drug laws. :yep:
If you don't like the drug laws in Texas, that is one more reason not to go to Texas. But if you do go to Texas, you will be under Texas laws, like em or not. :yep:.

One more reason to move to the Netherlands:yeah:
No one's gonna make a fuzz over some drugs here, in fact I'm pretty sure I'm the only one among my close friends who's never tried them yet, with several of my friends taking them regularly (about once a week).
Actually, I'm a little curious as to why you Americans are always so over-sensitive about drugs (I'm talking about the lighter ones here, e.g. weed). Could anyone elaborate on this?

What is the difference between freedom and liberty? And which would you rather have?

Believe it or not, it's a religious thing. My drugs are legal because they're moral. Yours are immoral because they're illegal.
Works both ways.

I always thought it had to do with maintaining our strategic Pop Tart reserves. :O:
