I've been circling around the area the BdU said the Carrier might be. Found merchants and one big task force but no carrier.:damn:

Try to follow the aircraft, they are carriers. Often the carrier is detected in such a way.
Most carrier cruising in the southern part of area

Attacking merchants can help. I attacked a lone merchant in the area. Two destroyers came to investigate. That seemed odd to me given the location so I followed them. Turned out they were part of the carrier's task force. Result was one dead carrier.

So anyways if you start seeing planes and come across a merchant ship make your presence known. If the carrier is close enough it will send escorts to investigate.

I did spot a Swordfish Torpedo-Bomber fly over me and no near airbase. Should've figured out something was odd.

Be sure to submerge and check the hydrophone from time to time as well. You'll hear more than you can see at times.

I had a bit difficulty finding that carrier task group myself. I found a solution to it. Sneak in towards scapa flow and patrol there. Eventually the carrier group will pass you there. Make sure you find that spot where the sea is deep. It should go to 200 metres in a special spot so that you have enough room to escape any escorts later.

Later in the war you will find huge carrier task groups in the gibraltar area. We're talking 4-5 carriers, many battleships and a huge load of escorts.

I sneak in to the entrance of gibraltar and sunk 2 american carriers, 1 american battleship, 1 british carrier and a few british escorts. But the hours after that I struggled a long and hard war to get away from the remaining war ships. The relatively shallow ocean and long distance to open sea makes it a bit challenging. There is always aircraft patrolling in the air too, they will attack every time.

It was 1943 or 1944. I think it was 1943.

The carrier group is not sitting there and waiting. They are constantly patrolling a bit into the mediterranean sea. But they are patrolling the outer side of the gibraltar entrance as well. When the aircraft start coming over you, you know the carrier group is not far away.

So what part of Scapa Flow are you talking about? The Western approach, Eastern? Thanks as I've been looking for quite awhile now without any luck. :(

I intercepted and sank the aircraft carrier in a given square.

Can't find the second carrier in the 'Delivers for Malta' mission, is it possible that the AI sunk it? Cause there are no carries any more and haven't been for months, these waters are carrier free.

Been to Gibraltar and nothing, I've been checking all the big groups with F2 and nothing :(

I'm pretty sure that if the AI sinks one of the ships that you were surpposed to sink in your objectives then the ship/s would respawn

As for the carrier I just camped out in the mouth of plymouth and waited for less than a day (game time) and there she was. If I recall right I barely had to move to get into position. That was great.
