Hi everyone, I'm new to this great forum BTW

Saw SH3 a couple of days ago and fall in love with it. The problem,
I only use linux and I was having a crash everytime the periscope went
to the surface. Found that many people were experiencing this same
problem so decided to do my best to fix it.

Now I have a patch that works fine for me, I can raise the periscope everytime
I want and everything goes fine, but before publishing the patch I would like
to find some testers to make sure it works for other versions/configurations.

SO

Are there any Linux users suffering for this problem and willing to do a bit
of testing? Thanks

and good that it works without any stop, :salute:

BTW,I have been using Linux for some purposes, and one was visiting with SH3, but it's a while ago, but but I bumped into them on the issues that you mention above, in normal cases I use W7

I'll be trying to setup Wine to run SHIII sometime in the next few days. If I encounter this problem (which seems probable), I'd very much like to test your patch.

OK if you have any other problems (you shouldn't, it works straight) I'd be glad to help you.

Got it running last night - right out of the box. Pretty much indistinquishable from running on WinXP - no bow wakes (there's a patch for that), but otherwise fine, and the periscope works too. This is with Wine 1.1.37., Slackware 13, SH-III with GWX 3.0 and no other mods.

So I can't test if your patch will work, but if you want to see if it is stable on another system, let me know and I'll give it a try.
