Intel chipsets are notorious for bad OpenGL performance. I suggest putting a video card in. If its a laptop stop buying crappy Intel laptops.

Intel bad for OpenGL?
Microsoft delights on its DirectX for gaming and hates OpenGL to hell. And now NVIDIA is owned by Microsoft
so go figure why OpenGL games now run

Microsoft does not hate OpenGL it competes with it and does so well.
Yes Microsoft took a dump on OpenGL with it's "Microsoft GL" system in the mid 90s. But atleast they had it. They could have just not have have included any GL support and that would have meant only those with video card drivers could have had it.
Recent OGL issues? Its own darn fault for refusing for so long to make it easier to use and thinking people liked the challenge of using it as opposed to windows and DirectX.

Microsoft must have hate OpenGL otherwise they wouldn't give it so poor support in NVIDIA cards :D.
It's about driving out business competition.
As to why they didn't go away with OpenGL completely I guess is to give pretense that NVIDIA cards support OpenGL and to prevent backlash from gamers or to mitigate it.
I'm sure in the future they'l go away with OpenGL completely even for now it's already almost unplayable.

Then go ATI. If NVIDIA refuses to make good OGL drivers it is their own darn falt. MS Includes a good system to let OpenGL tie in.
