Big story, people queued because they were told to queue early. the queue went down after the initial rush and people who didn't queue early got through without waiting in line much

They are foreclosures as they couldn't afford to buy, if they couldn't afford to buy then they would rent, if they now rent and previously they would have rented then where is the big trouble that wasn't already there?
The buying spree by people who shouldn't have bought just gave you a very short term respite from poblems you already had and will still have no matter what.
You can shuffle the cost around as much as you like but you still have it.

You have hit only part of the problem Tribesmen. There are those that have lost jobs who could afford their home without issue. The folks who worked at the GM/Dodge factories that could afford their homes are now in foreclosure. The folks that worked at Harley Davidson in York PA lost their jobs. These folks did not buy on margin. They have lost their homes. The country has been stagnant for over a year. My wife has been looking for a job for over 6 months. The school she worked for has closed. Is she one of those that could not afford the home? Where is the cost shuffling for those that did not buy on a ARM loan? What about those that bought on 30 year fixed but lost their jobs? Oh yeah, what about those? Not everyone bought above their means but are suffering job losses. Their homes in foreclosure. The picture has grown much beyond just those that bought beyond their means. My wife paid for her vehicle and her two small in balance clothing store credit cards. She could afford the payment each month without issue. Now that she is out of a job how will she pay for these? The truck gets repossessed and she defaults on credit cards. Was she buying beyond her means? Well no. Fortunate I can pick up the slack and pay for these until she find a job. Some do not have that option.

That's the real tragedy. There are people who have done nothing wrong, but are now losing their houses. :nope: It must be horrible to have so little control over what happens to you.

We can cluck our tongues oh so haughtily and superior at the people who bought homes they really could not afford. But what about the people who did buy a home they could afford, and then, through no fault of their own, lost their job and again, through no thought of their own can't find a new one?

As long as were clucking let us not forget those that 'encouraged' the sales of homes to citizens whom more than likely would not complete the obligation.

Looks like a bunch of them were truly desperate. And trust me it is horrific when someone moves lines or combines them into an even longer line. That was a bit of voter itimidation they tried in my city in my opinion during the last election. The elderly just left. Hopefully most came back later to vote.

Giving it away doesn't exactly promote true feelings of ownership or responsibility, much less a future. It does translate into votes in some precincts.

And when riots occured what happened...they burnt the very places the gov.t gave them. Bad policy.
